I would have though that most people even aware of the extended editions would already have the extended DVD`s anyway and wouldn`t be interested in a BD boxset that includes a load of DVD`s - IF there was a BD boxset of just the films released..??...
Still surprised that they need 2 BD`s too.... (hadn`t even heard of the `complaints` about the theatrical BD image quality..)

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

EiV has told me that the retail for this one will be between £80-£100 and that there will be few, if any, review copies for media in the UK.

Well the eventual selling price will be less than the RRP, but I still reckon you`re looking at £50-£60.

Yeah, I`m sure it will be - and less after not too long.  I just feel most people interested will already have the DVD extras..

Yeah, I think it`s overpriced, especially compared to the Superman set that`s coming out, but hey they know people will pay it. Personally I`m not a big enough fan to pay for it twice. I got the theatrical releases cheap, and they are long enough as it is. There are a few bits from the EEs that I miss (Two Towers is much better in EE form), but I can see me buying the new set. I will be interested to see if they improve the fairly lacklustre video quality though.

I was surprised that when i told the missus she wasn`t that fussed, as we have the extended DVDs, so I guess we won`t be double dipping this one this time, not until it`s cheaper anyway.

Hang on..so the Blu Ray extended editions of the films are still split over 2 disks? I was waiting for the Blu Ray with its higher capacity to be able to watch the films without having to change the disk halfway, I think I`ll stick with watching my extended edition dvd`s upscaled on the Blu Ray player and give this a miss then
