Im also a newbie in buying Region 1 discs, i ordered my first on monday from www.dvdboxoffice.com and i ain got it back yet but their cheaper than play by about a fiver on almost all their discs. Play are cost more because the dvds get shipped to you a lot quicker.

hope this will help! :o)

Go to the Retailer Review forum to read all of the good and bad things about the places you`re thinking of buying from.

Why the fecking hell does the site log me off whenever I write a lengthy reply and erases my work?

Right, start all over again... :-(

http://www.play247.com and http://www.movietyme.com will both offer speedy delivery to the UK, and offer free delivery (although like -=BOMB3R=- said, they will charge more than US companies).

In truth http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/ , http://www.absound.ca/music/search/search.html and various e-tailers this forum usually refer to are Canadian, accept Canadian $, and on a whole seem cheaper than the US counterparts.
If you want to compare prices on Canadian e-tailers, here`s a good link http://www.canadiandvdtraders.com/ , but be aware that the cheapest sometimes are not the best, so after that check out http://goldfishlegs.com/SHOP/sALL/sall.htm for a good idea on service on each.
You are going to be looking at around a fivers saving through these sites, but always check amongst your chosen sites, although running through comparison searches are going to help, such as http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/cgi-bin/dvdhtml2 are going to help.

However, don`t neccessaily limit yourself to region 1, check out others such as Australian. The best example that people here recommend is http://www.ezydvd.com.au who offer exceptional customer service, speedy delivery and futher more, prices way below British prices (including the delivery charge).

US sites may not neccessarily be bad, but as I said do check out the comparison link above, but be aware of p+p charges and the avaliability of custom outside the US (e.g. http://www.800.com and http://www.express.com ).
http://www.amazon.com is a good place to get pre-orders (methinks, not ordered from them, but will eventually). But before you order from them, please do check american freebie sites and links to find coupons to knock off the steep delivery charges, heres a link that will provide some links to obtain them http://www.dvdtalk.com and click on COUPONS or check out the forums there.

Now onto my genre, Hong Kong DVDs.
Most are reputable, but stick to http://www.dddhouse.com or http://www.coolshop.com for cheaper pricing on DVDs and VCDs.
http://www.dddhouse.com are my personal favourites (if you want more information, ask here. Should have enough information if you are interested. Examples of customer service). Good prices. Very good CS. Takes around 9-12 days for me.
http://www.coolashop.com have special offers and some low prices (and they have points). But they don`t seem to change your CN 23 info (but I haven`t asked :-B).
Check out both these links before you commit though http://www.asiandvdguide.com/ http://pub5.ezboard.com/bhongkongdvds .

Bollywood films seem to be OK at http://e-sales.ac/ayngaran/ , in the UK and cheap p+p (99p for 3 titles), although I don`t know how much personally they cost in India, so I wouldn`t specifically know how much extra you are tipping them. I`m on the case though :)

Keep under US$25 on the value of goods (although some retailers will undervalue for you), if you mark, or the companies mark it as "gift" , you are not to overstep US$38 (although http://www.dddhouse.com and most Hong Kong retailers will under value for you if you ask. That`s the reason why I haven`t been stung at all :D).

If you want any more information, do ask, as I`ve been tired typing this out twice, I have missed alot of the depth I put in the original.

I HAVE ONLY BEEN ORDERING FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW, BUT I HAVE FOUND THAT BY FAR THE MOST RELIABLE SELLER IS PLAY247. THE PRICE DIFFERENCE WITH DVDBO IS USUALLY ONLY A COUPLE OF QUID, BUT THE DISC USUALLY GETS TO YOU IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. WHERE AS WHEN I USED DVDBO IT TOOK BETWEEN 2 WEEKS AND 1 MONTH TO GET HERE.
I NOW ALWAYS USE PLAY 247, ITS WORTH THE EXTRA COUPLE OF QUID FOR THE FANTASTIC SERVICE.
