Donnie Darko - £5.99 Version?

Braindead (Competent) posted this on Monday, 12th January 2004, 17:49

I know there`s a release of Donnie Darko out on 2/2/04 and there seem to be some versions have extras, some don`t. Also, Virgin Megastores online say the pre-order version they are selling is region 0....most of the other are region 2.

Any ideas which is the best to get if you want the extras and 5.1 sound?

Get the existing version that is rapidly becoming unavailable - try eBay, forums, and any stores/etailers that still have it. Play.com have sold out.

As far as I understand the £5.99 one is a film only disk, Ive had a copy for a while, and lent it to a workmate who decided to drop it and chipped the edge of the disk, after a long search over christmas I managed to get another copy and can confirm they are as rare as rocking horse poo. most stores are waiting for the cheap version before stocking up again so you will have to be quick, I got mine from HMV for £9.99 (not the cheapest place I know but when its getting tricky to find ya grab em when ya can eh...I had one ordered from tesco.com I think it was about £6 there, but after 3 weeks they decided they couldnt get anymore and sent me an email saying sorry we cant complete your order...>:( If Id known I would have got it in woolies where I saw it over christmas for £6 in the sale)

hurry hurry hurry! :D

The £5.99 version out next month has extras as well as the film acording to sites that are selling pre-orders.

Why go for the original or have I missed something here please?

Most people like it, it is a weird film and can withstand several viewings and makes you think....like what was that all about, and to be honest I still dont understand all of it,but I like the film. :)

Oscar.
