RE: Help!!! Problem with Pioneer 575

Ah right! So Pete`s being a prat! Doh! Never really noticed it before as I normally switch the amp on once the 5.1 movie is firing up and dont think I have ever watched a movie with just through the TV. Could be wrong though.

Cheers

Help!!! Problem with Pioneer 575

For some reason the above has stopped playing 5.1 sound through my TV! It plays 2.0 discs i.e Friends but with 5.1 movies I get the picture and background sounds i.e. explosions and soundtracks but no dialogue.

Has the machine got to go back as I seem to have gone through all of the settings.

Cheers

DVD Recorder for £100??

Having purchased the Mico R311 from Sainburys a couple of months ago (and being very pleased with it) my father in law has asked me to get him one, but for love nor money I cant find any in the local Sainburys stores. Have they stopped making/supplying them?

Also, if they are now no more, what can I get him for £100, he says that he doesnt want to pay any more. Any ideas? I have found the Relisys from Richer Sounds is that any good?

Cheers

Pete

RE: R.C E (Region Coded Enhanced) DVD`s

I had exactly the same player and it played any region and some RCE`s, but I bought Dinosaur from Florida and it would not play at all. I now have a Pioneer 575 and it plays on that though.

Hope that helps.

RE: PES 4

Ste.

Sorry mate, I missed your post. I probably wont be back on now till Thursday, so I`ll post on here again and let you know.

Thanks, I`ve got your friends request but no message. I`ve played 11 games now with only one win, but people are very sneaky with me they wait until I`ve chosen West Brom and they go and select Juventus or Barcelona!! The one game I won was before the Man City game and the guy chose Man City, how ironic that I won!!

Anyway look forward to you giving me a bollocking, see you later in the week.

All the best

Pete

RE: PES 4

How many people are still playing this game online?

I finally got on Live last night and was very impressed, obviously when I choose West Brom and my opponent chose Juventus I was odds on for a taytering.

Anyway whose still playing PES4?

RE: Installation of DVD Re-writer

Please bear-in-mind that this is a Tiny computer and was a bastard to get into (excuses excuses), but the guy who spotted it said "how on earth did I manage to get it in upside down" the answer is I dont really know, and I didnt use that much force!

Pete

RE: Installation of DVD Re-writer

sj - I did everything that people advised. The end problem was that the IDE cables were in upside down as they have a little nodule enabling them to be only inserted one way, not once did you advise this.

I was actually being sarcastic as I knew that it had already been written to just use the one drive, but I didnt want to do that, I know that you can have both drives operable and there was something silly that was stopping it from working.

Many thanks for your help

Pete

RE: Where`s me thread gone! Anyway DVDRW .......

I took the IDE cables out and re-seated them, checked the connection to the motherboard, trouble was that I put them back in in the same slots! I wouldnt have thought that would have mattered, but obviously it does.

Oh well. Live and learn

Pete ;) ;)

RE: Where`s me thread gone! Anyway DVDRW .......

It`s not on my `Hardware` screen just double checked.

Strange!

Pete

Where`s me thread gone! Anyway DVDRW .......

Finally got the answer why it would boot-up.........................................................................................................................the IDE cables were the wrong way round!!!

Anyway thanks for all your help folks.

Pete

RE: Installation of DVD Re-writer

That`s a good point mate. I wonder if everything will be hunkey dorey if I just take out the IDE/Power to the CDRW? This bloke should fix it though, he is MCSE qualified so should know his arse from his IDE!

Cheers again.

RE: Just how good is Christmas!!!

Fair Play to you ZZRMATT by the sounds of it you deserve a cracking Christmas as I couldnt do your job for all the money in the world (God, I`ll struggle not to vom. when picking dog s*** up!).

Christmas undoubtidly is a fantastic time for all, with the only downside being that it is now so commercially demanding that people get into lots of debt and struggle for months afterwards to get back on level terms (if at all).

Anyway if my Mrs had boobs like that I think I too would be having a wonderful Christmas !!! ;) ;)

All the best and Merry Christmas to all.

Pete

RE: Installation of DVD Re-writer

Tried all of the above with no success.

Checked all connections, made CDRW Slave and DVDRW Master, went into the BIOS settings and the Primary/Secondary IDE were both showing as Auto and couldnt change them. V.Confused as it is still asking for Boot-up disk.

Anyway the Mrs has taken into a techy that works in the office above her so I should have it back later, hopefully fixed.

RE: Installation of DVD Re-writer

I`ll try and get on tonight mate, after trying to sort my PC out!

Whose going to be Nextbaumage?

All the best

Pete

RE: Installation of DVD Re-writer

Hiya matey

Am I best just to hoy-out the old CD drive as this Pioneer does everything? If not, are these `jumper settings` the black palstic thingies that go across two pins? And is there a certain formation to put them in or does it depend on the computer?

Do I need to change the BIOS settings/boot order?

What is your inside leg measurement?

Where did you go on holiday this year?

Sorry for all the questions. Also when am I going to get to play you at PES4?

Pete

Installation of DVD Re-writer

I`ve bought a Pioneer 108 re-writer and gone to install it this weekend.

I have a (sorry to say it) Tiny which was bought two years ago with an existing DVD Rom/CD re-writer. I have put the new Pioneer in the second bay and linked them with the IDE leads and two power cords.

The problem being that I have started the computer and it has asked for the Boot-up disk, I only have a System Driver/Factory reset CD but it`s trying to read the A: (floppy) drive and is ignoring the CD.

Help! Is there a set-up procedure that I can use? I remember somebody many years ago telling me to press one of the `F` keys but I cant remember which one and what I have to do from there?

Very frustrating!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Pete

RE: MiCO DVDR311 DVD Recorder £99.99 Sainsburys

Just been to Savacentre in Oldbury and confirm that they have 2no R311i`s for £99.99, the boxes look slightly battered, but you dont install the box do you!

What is the difference between this and the R311? Multi-point fuel injection?

Pete

RE: MiCO DVDR311 DVD Recorder £99.99 Sainsburys

No probs mate.

Cheers again for the help.

I`ve actually just called Mico and they said that there can be problems with Philips discs. I just bought some Maxell DVD +R`s from Sainsburys (5 with cases for £7.99) and will try them tonight, the guy from Mico said try those and you shouldn`t have any problems, if you do give us a call and we`ll courier a new machine to you! Not bad service at all.

Cheers

Pete ;) ;)
