Will blank dvd9`s ever be released?

The Heading says it all? And if so- will I be able to use them on my Pioneer dvd 104 writer?

Forget it. Even if DVD-9 recordables ever appear (which is very unlikely, due to the technological hurdles), they definitely won`t be burnable on existing writers.

Yup agree Mike. Also, by the time it may have happened, blu-ray will be out offering greater space anyway..

Sony have just released it in Japan,& its not cheap

Just read over the weekend somewhere that there bringing out double sided DVD-R disks (flippers)
If i find the link i`ll post it.

Double-sided DVD-Rs already exist (although they`re a little hard to find). They`re basically just 2 single-sided ones glued back to back; there`s no real advantage in using them.

These are in stock at the UK site i`m looking at but are £62.24 per 25 plus a couple of quid postage, so thats around £2.60 per disk.
