"Kung Fu" tells the story of Kwai Chang Caine, son of a Chinese woman and an American sailor. Caine, orphaned as a boy, was admitted as a student to the Shaolin temple, in China. Caine learned the ways of the Shaolin and became a Shaolin priest. One day he met his old master, Master Po, in a market. Master Po was shot by the Emperor`s nephew, and Caine in turn killed the Emperor`s nephew. Forced to flee China, Caine went to America, where he searches for his half-brother, Danny Caine.

May well stump up for this one as I used to watch this regularly as well.
Carradine being interviewed on the radio today due to his role in Kill Bill and apparently more people are watching Kung Fu now than did when it originally aired.
If I`m right this series was from an original idea by Bruce Lee but they wouldn`t accept him starring in it.

Just to make you aware this release has been re-formated from 4:3 to 16:9 by cutting the top and the bottom of the picture off. >:(
And it`s only £15.37 at DVD Import. ;)

This might help:
"I was shocked to find that this program is presented in a widescreen format. Apparently, the episodes were originally shot in widescreen, and then cut down for broadcast. The inclusion of this wide format, however, tells me two things. One, the material contained on these discs is either taken from a first generation master source, or darn near close to it. The result is a picture quality that transfers even better to DVD than it did to television. Second, it is clear that much of the footage (approximately 1/3 of every frame) is available for public viewing for the first time. Granted, none of the story is new, but the wide nature of these images really gives a sense of scope to the locations that was not available on the previous full screen format."
