Try installing the standalone update from here Your system is missing some vital updates and SP1 is very picky!
If this doesn`t work you may need to check your activation / key codes. You can re-instate the original key code by just typing it in and then re-running activation.

If this doesn`t work then it`s a reinstall I`m afraid.

I`m an old duffer in terms of driving - I passed my test (1st time I might add) @ 36 after 10 lessons. I had just one more lesson after I passed - a long, busy mortorway drive @ 70 MPH.

Speed can be scary...get used to it before getting those points ;)

Other than that, consider Advanced Driving qualifications if you`ve got the cash.

Connect up your drive, powerup IE7 then select file-->import & export-->click next-->select import favorites and tell the dialog where the existing favorites are.

This will allow you to copy your external faves to the normal directory structure.

hmmm.

Might be the Memory. Have a dekko inside and see if any of the chips are loose. Might be a good idea to pull them out completely and reseat them in their slots.

Other than that, I can only think it`s a component that likes to be warm before it functions properly.

I`d pull the battery and make sure it`s still delivering the proper voltage, but as you say, no settings are dropped so it seems unlikely to be that.

Forgive me Stanz for being a bit dim, but a Speedtouch modem is just a modem, not a router. One needs to connect the speedtouch to a wireless router (the Netgear you`re about to sell would fit the bill).

I`m puzzled? :/

As to router settings, you get at these by running up your browser and typing in the router address (you can get this from your ip settings - just run a cmd prompt - (start-run-cmd) and type IPCONFIG /All (hit return)

The `Default Gateway` IP address (usually 192.168.1.1) is the router`s address.

You`ll be prompted for a username & password (netgear`s default is username=admin pwd=password). Once logged in you`ll see a series of tabs for configuring the router & wirless access.

Hope this helps and I`ve not been too stupid...... :B

People don`t really celebrate the birth of a Messiah - it`s just an excuse for a pizz up and a few days off work. A few people I know go to mass `cos they like the atmos and the singing etc.

They too, have little or no real belief...:-/

I conform though - I`m in Oz now with family having a great time. We`re having a barbie by the pool this Christmas, so there :p

Presents will be given, games played, wine drunk (hic!) and it`s got sod all to do with any religious icon whatsoever.

Just a good excuse for a party really......:-)
