" I`ve also been considering migrating - to Pipex.

I phoned the quoted Customer Relations Team number - 0800 085 2819 - and told them I was seriously thinking about migrating becuase of the cost.

I was offered £3 off per month for a year or 25% discount for four months.

I took the latter and, if the price goes back up and I can`t get another deal (maybe an upgrade to 1mbps for the same price?!!), I will be migrating to Pipex. £22 - 23 is a sight better than £29.99 (after an introductory 12 months £27.99 via First Direct) !! "

Try www.plus.net they are £18.99 a month (for basic service).

They also give money off (forever) for each person you recommend.
It is possible to have a zero monthly bill, or them even owe you money.

BTW I`m with NTL so I`m not making `owt.

Tim.

Cheers for that, I have just rung them, and got the 10% off for a year! As has another guy in the office, and the 3rd one is about to ring them as well!

I also asked them to put me on the list for 1Mb, and they said that they may automatically upgrade me when the service is out!

Cheers again!

I use v21 http://www.v21.co.uk - good speed, good service and no restrictions e.g. not allowing p2p for £19.99 per month

Hi all i just thought i would add my tuppence worth i too wanted to move to pipex not only cos it was cheaper but the 1mb line was what i wanted BT offered me the discount and said they would be offering the 1mb line shortly when asked approximate dates they didnt know i have now moved to pipex and what a smooth move it was left for work in the morning came home at night changed access numbers and user id`s and then straight on to pipex, for what its worth i don`t think BT`s pricing on 1mb access will touch pipex`s which was another one of my factors in moving(i don`t work for pipex honestly)

Thanks, Scotbruce, for the original post.
I called up BT and said I was thinking of changing to another provider.
I was immediately offered a 30% discount for the next 3 months, which i took.
The agent said that he wasn`t authorised to make any further offers, but that he would
refer my query to the sales team. Lets see when they call.

Cheers!

Tarzan
