RE: dell 18

everyone has to start somewhere...
big difference between 17 and 19" - remember that with tft monitors, you get the quoted screen size, whereas your 19" crt probably has a 17+1/2" visible screen. whether it`s worth the price differential would depend on your use of it, amount and type. I stretched to a 17" tft when i bought and am very glad i did.
a multimedia monitor has integrated speakers. they`ll only provide very basic sound, though - even my cloth ears get fed up with them when listening to any kind of music. not worth paying more than £5 extra above a monitor without speakers built in, but one (or two!) less things to clog up your desk.
looks like the exact same dell 1800fp monitor on the novatech website for £150 less, yet not listed on kelkoo. why not phone them and confirm?

BT Openworld broadband account holders - How to reduce the monthly fee

" I`ve also been considering migrating - to Pipex.

I phoned the quoted Customer Relations Team number - 0800 085 2819 - and told them I was seriously thinking about migrating becuase of the cost.

I was offered £3 off per month for a year or 25% discount for four months.

I took the latter and, if the price goes back up and I can`t get another deal (maybe an upgrade to 1mbps for the same price?!!), I will be migrating to Pipex. £22 - 23 is a sight better than £29.99 (after an introductory 12 months £27.99 via First Direct) !! "

RE: Aldi PC bargains

crucial.com - UK - Medion - computer type. Good quality RAM at good prices incl. p[at]p, as used by probably most computer users upgrading their RAM.

RE: Cheap Blank DVD-Rs/CD-Rs

Good company - used them for a couple of years.

RE: What`s using all my memory??

I know you said Kazaa Lite, which is what I use as well, but have you run Lavasoft`s Adaware recently - just in case?

Urquhart series - House of Cards, To Play The King, Final Cut

Anyone ever seen these, anywhere, on DVD?

I`d rather not spend £47 on the VHS versions.

Thanks.

RE: Dansai Questions. Please help?

Typically there`s nothing at all in the instructions about the Language button on the remote. It`s certainly not the subtitle control, but I can`t work out what it`s for. I don`t have any of the DVDs you list as having special audio tracks.
All I can suggest is the helpline number, which is 0845 601 2549.
Sorry.
Unless anyone else can help you?

Once you`ve used the hack to select all regions, that`s it. That selection is retained even if the machine is unplugged (bought one for my son, set it up and tested it out about 2 weeks before his birthday, then re-boxed it for him to open; it had retained the all regions setting).

Don`t know anything about the language option, but I`ll have a look tonight and post.

RE: Cheap Gameboy Advance Games????????

GBA games are definitely not region coded. My son also bought one in the USA and has had no problems with any games. I researched it first and recall confirming that fact on a site, possibly the manufacturer`s.
I`ll be passing the site list to him.

Dansai 852 - availability

Locally,
Aberdeen Tesco Extra have none and can get none. Inverurie have about a dozen, but you`ll have to collect it yourself as Aberdeen will not allow internal stock transfers "at this time of year".

Nationally,
tesco.com no longer stock them.

This short stockfall (and transfer policy) may become commonplace.

Moral
If you want one, grab it when you see it.

(A cheapskate who can`t afford to replace his ancient, scart-less second TV, so needs the macrovision-free facility to daisy-chain through the VCR).
