I just went to Play a few minutes ago and they have seemed to abandoned the R1 section. They dont have it as a quick pick on the side to view new releases and top 40 chart. If anything it made me think that they are trying to get rid of it..Does anyone have any idea why they have messed with it all?

I have one other question about using a one for all remote. I saw somewhere the exact product code for this handset, but the shop where I went to get it had numbers above and below it (old and new obviously).
If I buy a newer model of the remote will the hack still work?

I am going to get a one for all remote to do this hack but I don`t understand the whole thing about configuring the remote control etc.. can anyone explain this to me in lay mans terms?

I know that but this is the original Wharfedale 750 and a lot of films cant be played properly, like RCE discs etc. I have already received and brought back 3 players in the space of 2 weeks and it is driving me mad.
Any ideas?

Region 1 viewing problem...Help!!

I bought a Goodmans GDVD124 and have it region hacked. I have only watched one film so far, Rushmore Criterion edition, and I noticed to my horror that it jumps slightly if there is too much movement (especially if the camera is panning sidways). I haven`t had the chance to try a Region 2 yet to make sure it isn`t happening to all discs. Though I do believe it is to do with the fact that U.S. films have fewer frames per second to European.
I remember posts about this before, and I think it may be a simple thing that needs to be changed on the players setup menu. can anyone help?

PS. I checked the FAQ and my old dvd player played these films without problems, so it isn`t my TV thats at fault.

I just bought a Philips dvd633 which is an upgrade of the dvd622. I knew that machine could be hacked but now that I looked in the philips hacks page there is no hack for this machine.
does anyone know if it was designed to not be hacked, or is there a hack available?
If not then I will be taking it back asap.

I am about to sell my own Wharfedale 750 to a friend and I want to get a good Budget-midpriced player (depending which is best, I don`t mind) that plays/can be hacked to play Region 1, RCE discs, and VCD`s. What are the best suggestions?

HELP!!! Full Frame problems on widescreen..

This is a simple problem which is annoying the hell out of me.
I have a Philips 32" (flatscreen) widescreen TV, I don`t have the model number. Last night when Watching an x-files episode on dvd in it`s original 4:3 aspect ratio I noticed that in the centre of the picture it was curving in
(that is the top right & left, and bottom right & left corners of the picture were nearer to the side of the tv than the middle).
This is the type of thing that can be altered easily on a computer screen, but I can`t find/don`t know what the relevant option is in my menu. Another factor hindering me is the fact that the instructions for the tv were lost.
Can anyone help who knows what need s to be done?

Shrek region 1 dvdrom problem.....

I have windows Xp (though Interactive software inform me it was tested with the shrek DVD) and am having problems with the DVDROM content. It installs and loads but as soon as the interactive player starts (though it doesn`t get the dvd menus or rom menus ) I get an Error message. For XP Users it`s the send/don`t send error message.

My dvd rom can play all region dvd`s so why does this happen. If it helps windows media player is giving me the same grief even though 2 months ago it was perfect. Any solutions?

Manics fans help....

I have just got the new Manic street Preachers dvd and play it on my original Wharfedale 750. When watching the documentary I clicked the option to watch full interview with fidel Cstro etc, and at the top of the screen is the image twice and the lower half is scrambled.

bear in note this plays fine on my dvdrom. Anyone else have this problem?

I have watched Fight Club and The X-Men on it this weekend and it was working quite well. The sound of the X-Men was spectacular actually. I think the Dolby Surround Sound rather than 5.1 is a better option for my tv, I will have to check if it is a Prologic. What does it mean if it is Prologic? The surround sound doesn`t work as well?

Surround sound/5.1 Help needed

I just got my new Philips Widescreen 32" tv I had ordered, don`t have the model number on me. I just got the wireless speakers for the back of the room working and the volume for them is up to its Max. Yet it still is quite low in sound. Is it supposed to be like this just for echoes etc in films.
I watched a scene of a film with traffic in it with 5.1 turned on and I imagined you would hear the sound of the cars all around the room, though granted in a hospital scene you could hear the intercom in the rear speakers.
If I change the tv sound to Hall, which takes away the middle speaker on the tv, it sounds louder at the back to make up for it. How do I make it perfect for watching films is what I am trying to get at? Any hints?

sorry, forgot to say Im from Ireland and we haven`t got the m5 yet. Plus I have heard bad things about how it plays a lot of discs, skipping etc.

I own an original, I suppose, Wharfdale 750 player which is faulty for films like Jaws, LA Confidential etc.... I dont care much about these problems, what I do care about is the fact that I ordered the Stanley Kubrick Box Set from the U.S and it is R.C.E encoded.
This is my first time getting one of these and I am wondering is there a cheat around playing them, I have seen the map appear on the tv from one I lent off a friend but I didn`t try sticking in a normal region 1 disc beforehand. Does this work or will I have to get a new player to make it work? If so what is the best one to deal with R.C.E discs and has good quality etc all round? Oh and not too steep a price.
Hope someone can help me out..
