Should I change player????

strangelove (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 23rd June 2001, 18:59

I own an original, I suppose, Wharfdale 750 player which is faulty for films like Jaws, LA Confidential etc.... I dont care much about these problems, what I do care about is the fact that I ordered the Stanley Kubrick Box Set from the U.S and it is R.C.E encoded.
This is my first time getting one of these and I am wondering is there a cheat around playing them, I have seen the map appear on the tv from one I lent off a friend but I didn`t try sticking in a normal region 1 disc beforehand. Does this work or will I have to get a new player to make it work? If so what is the best one to deal with R.C.E discs and has good quality etc all round? Oh and not too steep a price.
Hope someone can help me out..

if your happy with it, exchange it or get a refund. If you bought it from tesco`s- i`d say swap it for the wharfey M5.
Have a good one.

I have heard that all of these problems have also been fixed though as they were only present in the first batches. Aye.

If Chivalry`s other thread is anything to go by he has now had time to watch a film and is asking about Pioneer`s. Read in to this what you will.

All the best,

Andrew.

The Aiwa 370 is really an LG in disguise....
The new Lg models seem ok, but haven`t heard a great deal about them!!!
