Who wants a digital/analogue SPL meter
I`ve just had email Radio Shack for (Tandy) analogue SPL meter. They are selling it for is £25 for analogue version and £40 for didigtal. Carriage is £6 per parcel, not per item.
Well, anyone of you wants one please email me, as the more I order, we`ll all save more on shipping

Hi, there is a lot of problem on above site, cauase I am a victim too. I know someone has no problem from them at all. My guess is they have stock problems. So I want to get everybody together to make sure someone received the dvd before we order. Anybody recieves dvd form dvdimport?? here is my order:

Guys, I think dvdimport has some problems with not so popular dvd. I `ve oredered you can count on me (don`t ask) for over a month now and still have not received anything.
I am thinking of starting a thread, so we can all get together to see which dvds we have recieved, do you not think it is a good idea?

I`ve been using absound for foew years now, No problem with the custom (I have >50 DVDs). However boxset is best brought on futureent, or play247 as the shipping charges is cheaper

I don`t have either, but the physical connection is right. the digital sound would be something like using coaxial not using scart, as it will give u stereo nicam sound. The purpose of coaxial is to carry DD sound only not picture, I presume there must be a menu in your TV setup

Sorry, forget to answer your question, if u ahve DD DVDplyer, use the normal phono lead (ie 5 pairs of phono interconnect), as the sound is decoded by player to analogue then send to amp. If u have a DD decoder, then is digital cable (optical or coaxial interconnect- just 1 interconnect), connect to DD amp because the sound will be sent digitally to DD amp, the decode by the amp. Hope this help

Just to make thing right, the above comment is absolutely correct, DD amp better that DD player decoder, except one the comment of PaulBu (sorry mate). That is if u have a DD decoder, u do not need a DD amplifier, just need a Pro Logic amp. The reason that many people opt for DD amp is because of the difference in price is now negligible. Also they usually come with DTS decode, which DVD player does not have, except Pionner 616. There is however one exception, if u are an audiophile, then u need to buy a more musical amp such as NAD, or ARCAM, which are a lot more expensive with DD decoder. My advice to u if money is tight, Denon 2801 would be a good start. For musical sound, also go for brand that specialise in music.

PaulBu, let me know when u receive your player about the quality and what disc it can play. Also, did u ask Webelectrical to match the price? as I saw them selling for 199, I think. Is it macrovision disable?

I am undecided which one to buy, I want a dvd player that is MR, CDR/RW, VCD, RCE compatible (all the above player able to do that?). Can u give me some suggestion please? Which is better quality? Also where can I find it cheap. I saw Toshiba SD100 selling more expensive that 210, why is that so as it is the older model, or am I wrong

Has been doing some research lastnight since reading this thread. LG3200 cannot play VCD, MPEG, of CDR/CDRW. Also there may be some problem with firmware 1.00. Goto www.lgdvd.co.uk for more detail. But it is very tempting with that price!!!

Mine plays all disc, region 1,2 RCE disc. No problem at all. It is automatically select the region as well. There is no blockiness as mentioned. I can`t complain for £60.
