RE: cheapest price for samsung 511??

Sadly not all John Lewis stores sell it for £137.00 but they will price match if you have proof or a number they can call but hunt around and get some proof that its cheaper elsewhere and if you see it cheaper online print it out and take it into the store.

Goodluck :)

RE: Any point in me buying a DVD player?

Course theres point! The picture is a vast improvement and the convienience of it rather than having to rewind a video tape. And the special features.

WARNING ABOUT WARFDALE 28 INCE TV`S FROM TESCO`S ON WATCHDOG

Tonights Watchdog gave warnings about warfdales 28` tv brought from Tesco`s as theres a fault which could cause a fire risk so i guess if you brought one over the past 6 months then you should call Tesco`s to find out if you own one of the faulty sets as they are calling for them to be returned. As it can be a fire risk.
So its better to be safe than sorry!
Cheers

RE: scan sc200

Well i wouldn`t recomend one due to past experience. But my mate who owns one is happy with his.

Samsung 811 at unbeatable.co.uk for £167? does anyone own a samsung 811?

Im interested in getting the Samsung 811 instead of the 511 and was cheaking out the pirces online and i see that Unbeatable.co.uk are selling it for £167.69
I was wondering why thy would sell it that cheap when the usual selling price for it is about £280.
Does anyone own a 811? And if so what do they think of it?
Also has anyone ordered from Unbeatable?
Cheers.

RE: My Only Problem With Scan DVD Player.

What is a carrot cruncher?

How much is the LG 3350Ee and where from?

I know u can get them from WHSmiths...
Becky.

RE: Has Nellie Left The Country?

Fingers crossed! lol as i want to get my next player. And im thinking of going for the LG.

RE: Has Nellie Left The Country?

But on the other hand, i rang Scan Friday to return my Scan and they were very helpful. I didn`t wait that long for the call to go through and they offered to come and pick my player up that day. Im just waiting for my money back now. Which i hope will be very soon.

RE: Has Nellie Left The Country?

Who is this Nellie person. Scan really want to sort it out as it wont win them any customers. My previous phone company had bad customer service which has put me off them for life and i would never recomend them. So i cant see why companys have such bad service as one of the best sales techniques is word of mouth.

RE: Are LG`s anygood?

Cool thank you for that. I was hoping to pick one up from W H Smiths but they are bringing in a new stock so i dont know now if il be able to get one from there as i dont want to buy online.
Becks.
P.S Is the hack easy?

RE: Are LG`s anygood?

cool the mag says its not multi rgional. Whats Big w? WHSMITHS are stocking new ones now i think.
Becky.

Are LG`s anygood?

Im considering getting one so is there anyone who has a opinion on these machines. Also are they multi-regional. My magazine says they are not.

RE: Which DVD Player?

I tried the scan on two tv sets and had a prob with the colour. One set being a good Sony.
Becky.

RE: Are all regions what they say?

Cheers for that. I looked earlier on the back but couldnt see a region writen on the back but i brought it from Play247.com under the region 1 section. I didn`t alter anything on the pcs dvd player. Interesting though.
Becks. :)

RE: Which DVD Player?

Well i can only speak for the player i had. I tried it on 2 tv sets and on both the colour was grey in areas where it should be darker.
I didnt like this as like you say you dont want to be fiddling around with the colour each time you sit down tov watch a dvd.
But on the other hand a friend of mine who has a Scan has no problem with the colour so it may just have been the one i had i dont know.
Anyway i hope that is of some help.
Becky.

RE: Which DVD Player?

Well i did alter the colour on my tv but i still couldnt get ir as good as it could be and to alter it each time is a pain. Where as on other dvd plyers there is no need to alter the colour.
Becky.

Are all regions what they say?

Only i brought a dvd of the film Manhunter understanding it was region 1 yet after reading a past post in here saying many region 1 discs are in fact region free i thought i would go and try the disc in my dads player in his pc which i dont think is multi regional as itas a standard player you get with your pc package. And low and behold the disc played fine.
So i guess its not region one after all.
Becks.

How do you know a player supports RCE?

Someone mentioned this RCE to me a while back. So how do know if your player would support it. Although now im considering forgetting the Multi-regional feature and going for a player such as the Toshiba. Although that would mean never being able to play one of my dvd`s which is region 1.
It`s doing my head in trying to find the right player. lol If Britain was as good at relaeasing DVDs as America then there wouldnt be this need for blimin` multi-regional.
Becky.

RE: Which DVD Player?

Im kinda in the same position as you. I did have a Scan SC-2000 but sent it back as the colour was grey in dark scenes which was a shame as otherwise its good. So im also now on the hunt for a new player.
Thing is im interested in the Toshiba but they are not multI-regional out of the box which is a pain.
Im kinda interested in the Bush also.
Im wanting a player that has a great picture and sounds and good colour.
And is Pal / NTSC im not sure if this is a standard thing in all players or not. Dolby Digital,.
But mainly Multi-regional . And not to pricey. And of course a good sharp picture.
Becky.

Are Toshibas Multi regional?

As in the mags it says they are not but people here are saying they are...

Also in my mag it says sonys are not but in a advertisment for a site selling Sonys they claim the sony is multi regional?

Becky.

RE: hardware upgrade sony or toshiba?

Hey Gary can you email me as i didn`t know the toshiba was multi regional? id love to hear more about it?
Cheers.

Why r expensive dvd players not multi-regional?

Why is it only budget players offer Multi regional? As i would love to buy a Sony or Toshiba but in my mags none of the more expensive players seem to have to multi regional function. Why is this?
Becky.

RE: Are Bush any good?

Cheers for that. I had recently purchased a Scan but returned it as i found it lacking in colour in dark scenes which apeared very grey.
Which was a shame as otherwise it was a good player with loads of great features.
So now i am on the hunt for a new player. I can never understand why expensive players don`t offer multi regional function?
I was thinking on the Lecson but i might try the Bush seen as its multi regional out of the box and is easier for me to get hold of.
Is this the most recent Bush DVD player?
Is it Pal / NTSC? Also one feature im now looking for is a dvd player with shuffle for cd playback as its one feature i lack on my stereo system so i would like to have on my dvd player.
Thanks Paul.
Becky.

Are Bush any good?

Im thinking of buying a Bush dvd player but i see there are several avaliable. Does anyone own one? If so whats it like?
Cheers.

RE: Advice for a new SC2000 owner

doesnt fill me with much confidence the scan sounds full of probs! if theres a need to keep udating stuff.

RE: Firmware upgrade on Scan SC 2000

A friend helped me with my Scan yesterday and now it plays the SOTL`s dvd fine but im not happy with the colour. Is the colour due to my tv? as it plays tv progs better but dvds seem to be a bit cloudy as good a clours as normal tv progs play. Im wondering if this is because on my tv? can anyone help?
I hope to get an new tv next month. I have still noticed it jump slightly. But the pic is much better but it is still ot perfect on my Dead Calm dvd.

RE: What do you think of the Scan SC-2000?

well i wouldnt recommend it.
