Rock Profile DVD?

Did anyone watch the comedy show `Rock Profile` on BBC 2 a while back? It featured Jamie Theakston interviewing `rock legends` and two comedians but I can`t remember their names - one is George Doors from `Shooting Stars`. The funniest episode was definately the one with Take That..."Everyone alright for nibbleth?" said in a Howard Donald accent, complete with speech impediment!

Anyway, I`ve been looking for it on DVD or I`ll even settle for VHS - anyone know if it`s available?

Cheers,

Squeeze

RE: Anyone used RINGO`S before?

I exchanged an R1 DVD today with them which seems a good idea. All you do is send an R1 DVD to them that you don`t want anymore (obviously needs to be in decent condition) and you can exchange it for one in thier selection for a fiver. This not only covers handling and the actual deal, but they also promise to send it back to you by recorded delivery the next day! At the moment the selection is not great as this is only a trial offer but you might find one or two that you like.

RE: Simpsons season 1 dvd

`Bout bloody time as well!!!

The only draw back, if the report on www.animationondvd.com is true, is that Fox are only planning to release two seasons a year. This means it`ll take ages to collect the full set `cos I think we`re on the 11th or 12th at the moment.

Oh well, at least we`ll be getting Futurama soon too.

RE: One night at Mccools is cool

Did we see the same movie? After reading some of your threads for the last few months or so I thought you had more taste than this dicanio!

I found watching the flickering exist sign more interesting than this tripe, how can you even begin to compare it to the great `American Pie`?

The ending didn`t make me laugh either... more of a quick exhalation. The only thing that stopped me from walking out was the fact that the next bus ewasn`t due for another hour.

I left the cinema wishing I had seen `Spy Kids` instead... terrible.

RE: What`s the worst film ever?

`HONEST`... honestly don`t watch it!

`JAWBRAKER`... my God what a crap film, that`ll teach me to judge a film by it`s cover!

`MOONWALKER`... great music, shame about the plot... or lack of it, what the hell was that all about? (apart from the shameful self promotion)

RE: help: Grease & Grease 2

Me thinks you`re in the wrong forum, but like you, Julie, I am one of only about 4 people who await the release of this classic but all of my searching has revealed no release date as of yet.

But hey, don`t sweat it honey - a hickey from Kinicky is like a hallmark card!

RE: Anyone have Clueless on DVD?

Loved the film when I was about 15. However, now I`ve `grown up` I don`t think I would watch it again - definately a teen movie.

I think the only `special features` on the DVD are scene menus and subtitles, but you can get it for £11 from ringos.co.uk in the `offers` section.

RE: What is the best gun fight/shootout in a movie ever?

Just been to see ONE NIGHT AT MCCOOL`S (s***e film by the way) and it hasn`t got the best shoot-out scene but is accompanied by probably the strangest choice of background music... YMCA!

The one at the end of TRUE ROMANCE isn`t bad.

Customs

I`m going to The Big Apple in a few months time and can`t wait to get my hands on all of those cheap DVDs. However, I have a bit of a problem in bringing them back. You see, I`m going for 6 months or so, and can`t bring many back because of the weight rescriction on luggage, as DVDs aren`t the only things I`m planning on bringing back.
So I was hoping that you lovely people, who know all about customs and that, could give me some advice.
I was also wondering how shipping them home would work, in regards to their value and any tax that customs may slap on.

Cheers.

RE: simpsons on dvd????

Hi Peter,

I also read that article, but haven`t heard about it from anyone else, D`OH!.

As DVDan posted recently, Futurama is due for release this Christmas, so maybe the Simpsons will too, we`ll just have to cross our fingers. If it does happen, I hope it is released in series boxsets, instead of the way it was on VHS.

RE: dinosaur r2 probs

My Dinosaur disk works fine... at least it does upto about the 5th chapter, when the subtitles voluntarily appear. At first I thought I had sat on the remote control, but then remembered all of the problems that those arseholes at Disney has leashed upon us. When I watched it for the second time it occured more frequently.

I`m thinking of exchanging it for another, does anyone know if it will happen again on my SAMSUNG 709?

RE: MAGNOLIA....AGONY OR WHAT ?

I bought Magnolia from the HMV sale for £10.99, after two of my friends told me that it was an amazing film - especially the ending. I must admit I got quite excited after such a build up and spent my day off watching it... and unfortunatley that`s 3 more hours of my life that I`m never getting back!

The beginning was promising, and I thought I was in for one of those movies that kept you guessing but then something happens that you just didn`t see coming. After the introduction, I thought that all the characters would end up dead in some bizarre chain of events (which I think would have been more fitting). I was also waiting for some exciting scene when the dramatic music continuously kicked in, but this never happened.

On the up side, I think the direction was great, but this film is going right on that car boot sale in the summer!

RE: disneys dinosaur on pre order from tesco

I ordered mine on Monday evening and it came on Friday, which is quite slow really, but I can`t complain because of the price.

RE: Cheapest Scream Box Set...Anyone?

If you can`t get it from BOL, MVC have it for £42.99 - the cheapest I`ve seen from a store. Can`t give a verdict on the disks though James; it`s alittle out of my price range at the moment.

RE: Disney - just plain greedy!!!

If your bro` doesn`t mind VHS, MVC have a Disney offer on at the moment - 2 for £22.

This includes Lady and the Tramp 2, Dinosaur... infact, it includes every Disney title.

Even though I don`t buy VHS myself anymore; I was tempted.

RE: disneys dinosaur on pre order from tesco

Thanx for the tip Samantha,

the offer is still on but is not advertised - you have to look it up using the `QUICKSEARCH`.

I must admit, Tesco online is a great site for bargains and it`s worth checking out on a regular basis to find those cunningly hidden offers.

The disk including P & P only cost me £12.74... and to think that I was going to pay £18.99 for it. That means I can afford an extra few drinks tonight!

RE: Hwo do i get the multi angel thing to work on my player?

I have `Notting Hill` and Lock Stock...` with the multi-angle feature represented on the special features list but can`t figure how to access the bugger!

RE: cool britannia

Britannia is a right pain in the arse!

O.K., you got a great deal at first, but that`s how they suck you in. They send you a `recommended recordings` slip and if you don`t send it back, they send you the film. You then have to pay the p & p to send the bloody thing back to them. All DVDs are overpriced, especially when you add the p & p on top of that.

I find myself having to order 3 more films, which I don`t actually want, just so I can end my membership.

Trust me, you`re better of out of it, mate!

RE: Anyone remember THE ANIMAL OLYMPICS?

ATTENTION ANIMALYMPIC FANS...

...I`VE FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!! RESULT!

I can`t believe that all this time it has been available from Amazon (and at only £8.99) No wonder I couldn`t find the bloody thing, though, if I couldn`t even get the title right!
I also found some interesting sites through Lycos by just entering the title.

Anyway, I appreciate everyone`s help to resolve my long, admittedly sad, quest... I thank you.

RE: Anyone remember THE ANIMAL OLYMPICS?

Oh yeah, I forgot... it was a goat not a lion, cheers hongkong_uk, that could`ve got embarrassing!

I`m just glad it was actually real and not me having a wierd imagination as a child, I`m sure that`s some form of incest in the animal kingdom!

Anyone remember THE ANIMAL OLYMPICS?

This has been driving me mad for the last 14 years or so, but does anyone remember a cartoon film showed back in the eighties called `The Animal Olympics` (or at least that`s what I think it was called)

It was about (as if you hadn`t already guessed) animals competing in the Olymipics and was about an hour long. What I can remember the most is a kangeroo boxer, a bore skier, a turtle commentator and a lion and a leopard long distance runners falling in love.

I have looked everywhere for it since but to no avail. PLEASE help me out.

RE: What TV series would you like to see released on DVD ?

THE PJs!

It`s better than Futurama but never got the recognition it deserves. Surely I wasn`t the only one who watched it!

Seven - Alternative Ending

Until I save a few more pennies, I can`t afford to buy anymore DVDs this month. I`ve heard the new `Seven` disc is excellent but don`t know what happens in the alternative ending...does Brad decide not to shoot the killer, or does a bird just fly overhead?!

RE: What TV series would you like to see released on DVD ?

I would love to see the excellent `Sex and The City` released on DVD. It`s my favourite show and just seems to get better and funnier every episode.
I know that the first season is available on R1 but haven`t heard of a release date yet for R2. So if anyone hears anything let us know.
