I`m going to The Big Apple in a few months time and can`t wait to get my hands on all of those cheap DVDs. However, I have a bit of a problem in bringing them back. You see, I`m going for 6 months or so, and can`t bring many back because of the weight rescriction on luggage, as DVDs aren`t the only things I`m planning on bringing back.
So I was hoping that you lovely people, who know all about customs and that, could give me some advice.
I was also wondering how shipping them home would work, in regards to their value and any tax that customs may slap on.
Cheers.
When declaring goods you have to put what they are. Play247 get away with this, I think, by stating opitcal media. You could always state they are a gift and send to it a mate however I`m unsure if customs may want to have a look and confiscate anyway.
Have fun when you enter immigration, whilst waiting in the cue phone your mum on your mobile, they always like that.....and when the guy asks what your purpose of visiting america answer in the same tone of voice as them..........they love it !

And don`t forget: tell them you live on a farm and you will get a free, relaxing shower. Well, relaxing if you like having a fire hose turned on you.
What? With like question marks? At like the end ? Of every sentance?
For sure?
I hate the yank customs nonsense.
Q. Are you or have you ever been a member of Hizbullah, or are you in any way a dodgy terrorist type ?
A. No......
Well come on in!!
On the DVD bit !! Couldn`t you post them to yourself over here individually or in 2s or 3s and see what happens?
How many you pan to bring back? Thay are not heavy are they!
To bypass all extra vat, just take all price lables off. lf you get stoped just say a friend gave them to you for nothing! No charge then!
