RE: 18 Carry Ons £17.99 delivered

Thank you both so much.
I`ve just placed my order for them.
Can`t wait for them to arrive now, classic British humour at it`s best.
Thanks again

RE: 18 Carry Ons £17.99 delivered

Does anyone know if these films have English subtitles?
I tried emailing HMV but they didn`t know.
Thanks

RE: Simpsons Series 7 at HMV!!!!

Season 6 is advertised at £14.99 as well.
Unfortunately both come up at £17.99 when added to my cart.
Still a good price though, tried using the voucher codes doing the rounds but they all ran out end of last month.
Might just hang fire a bit.
Thanks for the post.

RE: Dell W1900 19" LCD TV Question?

I tried that and the picture was a little flickery on close up.
I`m not really bothered, just thought if it had it I`d set it up with this in mind.

Dell W1900 19" LCD TV Question?

Hello
I managed to bag one of these TV`s thanks to the Bargain Buckets forum, cheers to whomever posted the link. :D
I thought that the TV was Progressive Scan capable but can`t find any mention of it in the manual at all, also can`t find any settings in the menu for this.
Does it handle progressive scan?
I`m about to connect it to a DVD player using component cables and just want to get the best picture available.
Thanks

RE: Laser printer £49.99 again.

Thanks Jemma,
A good way to post a bargain and get some info at the same time. ;)
Think I will buy this as my R800 is too expensive for run off the mill printing.

Laser printer £49.99 again.

Hi
I`m sure a lot of you will have had the email but EBuyer are doing the Samsung ML 1610 laser printer for £49.99 again.
Seems a bargain to me.
I just wish I could find confirmation that the toners are refillable and not `chipped`.

RE: O2 Wap settings help please?

Thank you for your reply.
I had tried the automated text message alerts but for some reason they weren`t working properly for me.
Anyway, I emailed O2 and got a reply within hours.
And everything is sorted now, I just did all the settings manually.
If anyone is interested, here they are.
Obviously use at your own risk.

RE: PayPal 10% Discount Code

Many thanks to the original poster, I used the code yesterday to save myself 7 US$.
Just as an aside to those wishing to find a scam loophole:
It is my belief that the discount is for EBay purchases only and not money transfers.
Secondly, the discount is applied to the final cost of the EBay item NOT including the postage.
So, after all of the Pay Pal fees and EBay fees are taken into account I don`t think a profit will be made.
I`m not trying to knock the OP`s bargain at all which I think is great. I just don`t want to see it ruined by greediness.
Thanks again SFBANKS.

RE: Philips 15PT6807 TV/DVD Combi?

Cheers for the reply blodwin,
I`ll have to see if I can look at some in the flesh this weekend, it`s probably the only safe way to buy.
I`d love to buy an LCD TV and seperate DVD player but the small ones are still really pricey for what you get.
Cheers

Philips 15PT6807 TV/DVD Combi?

Hi
I`m thinking of purchasing this combi unit (Philips 15PT6807) as an xmas gift, it`s around £160 on the net.
I can`t seem to find any reviews of it at all, just wondered if anyone can point me to a review of it or even your own opinons if you`ve used/own one?
I know very little about AV stuff. The reason I`m looking at this one is it has a flat 15" screen, but any alternatives would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Tricky
P.S. Is the DVD player region free or hackable even?

RE: 24 season 1

Hi
Can someone do a quick check for me please?
I need to know if it comes with user selectable English subtitles (either normal or for hard of hearing).
Thank you

Buffy season 2

Hi
I`m gonna be buying the region 1 Buffy season 2 and just want to know where my best chances of ordering without getting hit by customs is?
CDWow have been good in the past, I`m considering futurent too.
Both at £29.99, do you know of any UK distributers at that price and while I`m at it, any cheaper ones out there.
Cheers

RE: RECOMMEND ME A SUB £200 PLAYER PLEASE?

Thanx very much for the info.
I went to the mail uk site and they (my parents) were smitten with the Sony one for £180.
Not bad really seeing as it`s been made multi-region for that price.
Might not have been my choice or yours but thankx for the help, really appreciate it.
T

RECOMMEND ME A SUB £200 PLAYER PLEASE?

Whoops sorry Caps Lock on, didn`t mean to shout.
My parents are new to the world of DVD, they want a player to match their silver coloured Panasonic VCR.
It has to be region free so they can play my discs, or very easily hackable (judging by their prowess on the VCR front). :)
Also must be under £200 and silver as said before.
I think they would prefer brands that they have heard of but I`m sure I could persuade them.
Can you also let me know where to buy it from please?
I`ve got a SCAN 2000 and have been very happy with it after a mistake buying an ALBA :(, I would recommend this to them but branding seems pretty important.
Thanx for you help.

RE: Chea[est Futurama?

But cheers for all the replies, checking the linx out.

Chea[est Futurama?

Been waiting for this title for ages, but completely forgot it was due out until I passed a copy in Woolies yesterday.
I`ve seen it on Ringo`s for £29, can anyone beat that?
I`ve never ordered from Ringo`s before, I went to the retailer forum and did a search which came back with mixed results.
Just wondered what the general concensus is about them?
Thanx
Tricks

P.S. Off topic, but does anyone know where to get double DVD cases cheaply (major shop or net) without being stung by huge postage costs.
Thanx
:)

RE: Raging Bull AE £9.99 @ Woolies

Hey Issac,
Just give it a rest will ya?
I for one, will not pay for a product with damaged packaging, especially if the product continues to remain in that packaging throughout it`s life, and is decorative. (i.e a DVD case)
For a tenner, I went to another store and bought another copy. Not mint, coz that doesn`t matter, but without a bloody great rip down the front.
Why I feel the need to justify this astounds me, not really the right forum for this either. So on my part this matter (daft as it is) is closed.
Many thanks again for the original thread starter, can`t see your name sorry.

RE: Raging Bull AE £9.99 @ Woolies

Then just popped into Woolies in a different town and found one.:)
Got to the counter only to find the cover was ripped.:(

RE: 2001 Box Set from Ezydvd not arriving at all!

Cheers for the heads up Roger.
Missed out on the initial Oz release before all the problems arose.
Had given up hope of buying it as I wasn`t prepared to pay £40 for R2.
Been told today it has been shipped :).
Never used Devoted before, normally an Ezy man myself, so will be interested on how long it takes to ship.
Thanx again

RE: Auto-detection problems.

Thinking about it, the TV has only ever auto detected 16:9L ( thats a vertically streched 16:9 picture that fills all of the screen) from television programs, and no other ratio ever!
I seem to remember it goes to 16:9L when those Stella Artois films are on channel four.
I think it`s time I called Hitachi to see what I can do.
Just thinking aloud again.
T

RE: Auto-detection problems.

Had another play and it seems that if I set the scart mode on the DVD from RGB to composite, I can channel hop to the other TV stations without having to turn the DVD off.
But want to keep using RGB as the picture seems a little clearer to me.
Also still have detection problems (of the aspect ratio and AV channel).
Not really a problem as I said before, but it would be nice if I could fix it.
T

RE: Auto-detection problems.

Thanx for the reply Gazza

Only the DVD is plugged into the TV, via RGB Scart socket.
Can`t see any options on the TV`s menu, either.
I have a feeling it`s the TV and not the DVD but could be wrong.
Cheers anyway.

RE: Region 4 Buffy?

Thanx for your replies.
I take your point about customs, have gotten away with it thus far but don`t really want to get caught.
Decent sites too, I must be the only owner of the first series that never knew it opened out into a crucifix, doh!.
Might see if I can get it in the WHSmiths BOGOHP sale with the 3rd series but the second is proving a little ellusive at the moment. I think they must be redoing the packaging or something.
Cheers again

Auto-detection problems.

Hi
I`ve got a Hitachi widescreen TV, about 2 years old (i`ll try and find the model if it helps) and a Scan DVD player.
The problem I have is that, when you turn on the DVD player the TV picture changes to AV1 for only a moment, and then returns to say BBC1 (which you can only hear the sound from but the picture is a broken up image of the DVD). To simplify, I can`t watch terestrial TV channels if the player is on, and the TV will not automatically got to AV1 or RGB (preferably) once the player is turned on.
Also, the TV never dectects which sort of disc is in the player (as in aspect ratio) and always returns to the defalt 4.3.
The DVD player is set up for a 16.9 TV.
Simple problems, but anoying nontheless.
Any ideas?
Thanx

Region 4 Buffy?

Hi
Feel a little guilty coz only seem to post here when want a question answered. Must get around to answering some myself in the future.
Anyway,
Seeing as the Aussie exchange rate is more in our favour than before, I`m interested in getting Buffy series 2 from EZY DVD. About £48 if your interested.
I just wondered if it has all the same ingredients as the UK set, and if it also has the problems of the scratched discs with it`s packaging.
Also, I suppose if someone has found it cheeper then I`d be happy to save a bit of cash too.
Thanx alot
T

RE: Cheapest Buffy again?

I`ll have a look into that.

Cheapest Buffy again?

Hiya
I know it can be annoying and you`ve read these boring posts before etc, but have got really hooked on Buffy recently (literally I wish :D) and want to get the box sets.
Seeing as it`s probably a good idea to start at the beginning, where is the cheapest place to get the first 2 box sets from please.
Ezydvd look like a good bet to me but theres nothing worse than paying full wack when theres a bargain staring at your face.
Hope you can help.
Cheers
T

P.S. Cheers for the cheap CD post Clayts, been meaning to get Limp Bizkit for a while now so saved me a few quid. :)
