I`m sure a lot of you will have had the email but EBuyer are doing the Samsung ML 1610 laser printer for £49.99 again.
Seems a bargain to me.
I just wish I could find confirmation that the toners are refillable and not `chipped`.

Hi there Tricks,

I briefly owned one before the ml-1755 that I now have.
As I recall, because laser printers are not lost leaders, the makers don`t use that kind of juvenile prank.
I believe that refilling is as easy as removing a couple of screws and leavering off a simple bung.

Think I will buy this as my R800 is too expensive for run off the mill printing.

Couple points here,

Yes it is as easy to refill a cartridge as stated, but beware the cartridges supplied are starters & only hold 1/3rd approx of the retail replacement.

The toner cart can go on for ever (in theory) for refilling, but you have to clean out the waste toner (on average a cart can be refilled 3 times, before this is required).

Do not dismantle & use the hoover to clean up the waste as it will go straight through the filters\dustbag & back out into the atmosphere (its a calcogenic *sic*, so not good to breathe in at all).

You need to carefully empty\tip the waste into (& working within) a sealable plastic bag.



I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.

I have found them to be quick and no problems with the product or service.
It also mentions on the site how to fill other models so even if you dont want to buy from them its good for info.

ps i have the ML 1510 very good and had about a year i think.The cart i got when they where going cheap then was one of the half fill type[ around ] and have refilled once and have another bottle of toner ready to fill it up when needed.[Its so cheap the toner ]
