The test pilot for the first Concorde flight was Brian Trubshaw

RE: Digital carbon monoxide alarm reading, help !

Early symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning are similar to many common ailments and may easily be confused with food poisoning, viral infections, flu or simple tiredness or being drunk it seems.

Symptoms to look out for include: tiredness, drowsiness, headaches, giddiness, nausea, vomiting, pains in the chest, breathlessness, stomach pains, erratic behavior & visual problems. Think my local pub must have a problem with CO!!

Signs that indicate incomplete combustion is occurring, resulting in the production of CO, include a Yellow or orange rather than blue flames (apart from fuel effect fires or flueless appliances which display this colour flame), Soot or yellow/brown staining around or on appliances, Pilot lights that frequently blow out, Increased condensation inside windows

While your on a safety blitz, check your smoke alarm batteries this weekend!!

RE: Digital carbon monoxide alarm reading, help !

The Health and Safety Executive publish `safe` levels of workplace exposure limits to certain chemicals.

See www.hse.gov.uk/coshh/table1.pdf

What it says for CO is that the short term exposure limits (15 minute exposure) is 200ppm and the long term exposure limit (8 hour - equivalent to a typical working day) is 30ppm

As it is sited next to your boiler - there may be a higher reading because of the combustion process combined with other cooking events (anything like my place - burnt offerings could also contribute).

What are the levels like throughout the rest of the house?

RE: Some good news.

£39.42 per month - United Utilities

LCD bracket help required

Finally got around to buying a wall mount for my LCD TV (Acoustic Solutions 26805HD)

Turned TV around and the holes for mounting are in a rectangle 400mm x 200mm apart

The bracket supplied is a small (VESA apparently) plate

Is there an adapter for the 400 x 200 to the vesa, or is a bespoke bracket required

Help needed

Is anyone else addicted to Masterchef?

It`s the only thing that I regularly sit down to watch.

If I miss one I can`t wait to see what happened.

Don`t know whether it`s Greg`s excitement at a pudding or John`s disgust when someone serves up a bag of sick

"People often ask me what possible scientific benefit can arise from spending hours in a darkened room watching a woman with large breasts jog on the spot on front of you in a not very supportive bra. Imagine if they had said that to Einstein? He would never have invented the atom bomb"

Reasoned arguement from the eminent scientist me thinks
