Can anyone tell me if fawlty towers is going to be released on dvd in the near future.
I cannot believe this classic comedy series is not out on dvd yet.

I too was in a quandry on what DVD player to buy.
Had a short list of 3, Aiwa 370...cant get em........Lg 3350.......seems to be a good player but dont play vcds......(yet!).....Pioneer 535 with multi region and macro vision off.
Went for the Pioneer and am very happy with it.....£229 at upgrade heaven.(hardware mod included in price)
Its very quiet and plays vcds very well.........and of course any Dvd if chucked at it.
I think i made the right choice.
How certain is Jimbo of getting a hack for the LG so it can play vcds?

stereo sound problem

I have a sharp widescreen nicam tv plus a jvc nicam video.
I have just bought a pioneer 535 and have set it up from dvd to vid on av1 and vid to tv all via scart leads.
I select channel 6 on my tv for the video channel and dvd channel but only get mono sound.
I get stereo sound on normal tv channels but only mono on channel 6.
What am i doing wrong?
Is it becouse i am using cheap scart leads?
I will be buying a gold one £20 at the weekend.
Tried adjusting to stereo sound on channel 6 using tv set up options but it wont let me choose stereo.
Any one know how to solve my problem?

Is a vcd the same as a dvd converted to a cdr?
I know its not the same quality.
Or are vcds the one you buy from shops with movies on...the ones that came out before dvd?

Same thing happened to me lievn .....typed out my message then had to do it all over again when it asked for my password...........so in future i reccomend people copy the text before they submit it then paste it back if it goes tits up.

1. what exactly is Dolby Digital decoding ?

I will be using my Rotel amplifier on my hi-fi to feed the sound through and my tv is a sharp widescreen with 3 scart sockets.(nicam).

Fed up of waiting for comet/Aiwa370...........time to choose...advice needed.

I really wanted a Aiwa 370 but cannot wait any longer for a dvd player.
I have a shortlist of 2 but am open to any other recomendation.
My budget is £250.
1. PIONEER 530/535
2 LGL DVD 3350E

I dont want to cock up like my mate who bought a Alba .
So i have to make a good choice first time.

Comet and the Aiwa 370...some official correct info please!

Well its getting all a bit confusing concering comet and the Aiwa 370 will they get some wont they scenario.
I want a Dvd player and i want a Aiwa 370 but am i going to get one?
Can someone get some correct info from comet concerning the Aiwa and are they getting any more or is it the end of the line.
If it is there are a few confused souls (like me) wondering which Dvd player to buy instead of the 370.
I dont want to go buy a Mico or a Pioneer e.t.c e.t.c only for comet to get some Aiwas in stock at a later date.
I have a question for all you 370 owners....if you had £200 to spend and couldent get a 370.....what would you buy?
What comes close to the 370 for about the same money?
Hopefully me and quite a few others can then make our choice and be quite happy even though it aint a Aiwa 370.

Dont know about you lot but im getting fed up of all this sneaky free advertising thats going on in the forums.
Maybe a new page with advertisements on would be a good idea then we can read it if we want..........at least we will then have a choice.

Comet told me 2 to 3 weeks and they would have some in stock.
I suspect a little hype going on here so people will panic and buy from switch-it-on.!
You cannot visit the premises without a appointment and if your dvd player packs in god knows how long it will take to get it fixed.
Better to stick with a big company like comet where you can take any faulty item back to the shop for repair or a refund.
If people are desperate to buy a Aiwa 370 then buy all means buy one from anyone who has one in stock.........me ill wait till comet get some in stock.
If comet dont have any in stock by the end of january then i will reconsider buying a Aiwa and look at other options.

I tried comet in hull grimsby and scunthorpe and none of these stores had any in stock.
I was told 2 or 3 weeks.
If anyone knows of a comet in the north with some in stock then please let me know.
I dont care what bl***y colour it is.............well alright then i rather fancy a black one.
