Can anyone tell me if fawlty towers is going to be released on dvd in the near future. I cannot believe this classic comedy series is not out on dvd yet.

Rumours are abound that it will be out in time for Xmas 2001, but as far as I know they are just rumours at this point!
I really hope they go to town with these and don`t just bung the episodes on the discs. I`d still buy them to replace my dying VHS copies, but I`d love to see/hear a Cleese/Sachs/Scales commentary. I`m not sure if Connie Booth would participate as I don`t know what her relationship with Cleese is like these days.

They didn`t make that many episodes of it did they, I know it seems more but it ain`t that many! wonder why!

Spot on Bear, there were only 12 ever made, 6 one year (1976 ?) and 6 (er...) a few years later (1979 I think)
Wonder whether it`ll be digitally remastered - just imagine the sounds of Basil slapping Manuel around, reverberating around the lounge, and Sybil`s voice would be mega-grating (esp her laugh).
This would be on my Christmas list, and no mistake, guvnor.

We all know it will be a barebones disc, released a month after Warner Bros release feature rich versions in the US. :-/
