Thanks Guys.
I downloaded the manual. All my questions answered............NellyB.

Anyone have a Yamaha DSP E-800? I need some info.

Can the E-800 act as a dedicated pre-amp? I would like to use one with my stereo valve power-amp which would drive the front squeekers.
Thanks in advance.......NellyB.

RE: Yammie A5 or E800 ???

RE: Speakers

You should have mentioned this in the beginning. Go for bi-polar speekers as they will be excellent as rears when you upgrade.

RE: Toshiba SD100E any thoughts ????

Originally I was going to buy this player, but after a lot of research I went for a Pioneer dv535.
The toshiba can be made multi-region but you will have to get it chipped. Also, it has problems playing region 1 films with RCE protection.

The pioneer also needs chipping or re-programming but most dealers offer this. The picture and sound is very good and it has no nasty habbits like a lot of players you have probablly read about. It does all the Tosh does, RCE protected and VCR friendly.I bought mine from switch-it-on.co.uk. ps. don`t touch Techtronics if you know whats good for you.
Good luck. Neil.

RE: Techtronics, MultiregionMagic or Upgrade Heaven?

I have had 2 months of HELL with Techtronics. I don`t even want to talk about it. BE ADVISED.

RE: Speakers

Try lookin at Mission`s or Tannoy`s. Both have a large range. Good luck.

RE: Where do you go from a Wharfedale?

Pioneer DV-535. Has all you want plus macro off.

RE: At long last, a tried and tested multiregion hack for the Toshiba sd 100

You could try this:
press menu
open the draw
enter 41905746104766830082
stand on one leg
juggle 3 tennis balls
spin around twice (left by the way)
press play
you should see the words (you have short arms and deep pockets) flash on the screen.

Who cares what colour it is, if it plays all regions and the macro can be turned off, that`s all that matters.
