Loewe Xemix DVD hack needed
Does anyone know of a hack for the Loewe Xemix 5006?

RE: Sky digibox Problem ?
Gran,
Get "What Satellite TV" magazine. There`s plenty of repairers listed. The repair will probably cost about £50.
Alternativetly, contact Sky and enquire about purchasing a refurbished Digibox for about £50 upwards (depending on make, age etc.).

Egg: Hitchhickers Guide To The Galaxy (Disc 2)
This Easter Egg applies to the Region 2 of Hitchhickers Guide To The Galaxy (Disc 2)
The Easter Egg on Disc 2 can be found by choosing "Communicate" then press "Left" as meteors fly by and the press "Enter" when you see the Earth.
RE: Sky digibox Problem ?
Hi gran,
9.75ghz is the correct low band frequency and 10.50 is the correct high band frequency. Also 22ghz switching and power supply should both be switched on.
Have you tried a manuel software upgrade?
Regards,
aja
RE: Sky digibox Problem ?
Get a Quad LNB and some cable fitted (costing about £70) and use the digibox in another room for free-to-air channels or get a 2nd card from Sky for £13 a month!

Gran`s digibox problem
Gran,
Did you get your digibox problems resolved? If so what was the cause?
Please reply as I would like to know if all is well.
Regards,
aja
RE: Aja.Help again please.
Gran,
Please let me know what happens.
In the meantime check that the digibox is sending the correct switching info to your LNB. you can do this by going into the installers menu;
1: Press "Services"
2: Enter 0-1-Select
3: Go to LNB Set-up
4: Check that both the power to the LNB and 22GHZ Switching are set to "ON".
Hope this helps.
By the way, how old`s the digibox? If it`s out of warranty contact SKY and get them to send out an engineer. It`ll cost £50 but if you threaten to cancel your subscription they`ll repair or exchange the faulty digibox free of charge!
RE: LG 4710/4210 hack needed
The Aiwa 370 listed in the Multi Region hacks section works on these players.
RE: Aja.Help again please.
Yes this does mean your dish slightly out of alingment.
Before you go moving your dish check your LNB cable for any breaks. If you can`t find any damage then set about having your dish realinged.
Hope this helps. Let me know.
RE: Aja.Help again please.
Check the following Eurobird channels;
Fashion TV, Extreme Sports, Euronews & Channel Health.
If your problems with Astra 2 one of the first channels you`ll have problems with is Hallmark Channel (been there, seen it, done it!).
If you`re going to try and realing your dish yourself (although I wouldn`t recommend this has it can take hours to do it without the proper meters)it`s best to use the signal meter. If you get an engineer in it`ll cost about £40.
Hope this helps. Let me know.
Bond DVD Box
Does anyone know where I can buy the box for the Bond DVDs without the DVDs?
As I was one of the early purchasers (e.g. mugs!)of the Bond DVDs all I want is the limited metal box there were sold in at Xmas.
Anyone help?
RE: Sky digibox Problem ?
It sounds like your dish is slightly out of line as both the stations you mention are broadcast from Eurobird (at 28.5 degrees east) not Astra 2 (at 28.2 degrees east). I had a similar problem with my digibox (also a Grundig) and the dish needed re-aligned.
Alternatively, depending on when your dish was installed, you may be losing signal from your cable because of damage. Worth checking.
RE: Hack for a LG-DVD 4710
The hack for this player is the Aiwa 370 remote hack which can found in "Multi-Region Hacks" section of DVD Reviewer.
VCD Hack needed for LG 4710
Has anyone got a VCD hack for the LG 4710? I`ve got a VCD hack for various LG players but not this model.
Any answers?
Aiwa Owners Club website
Hi,
Does anyone have the address for Jimbo`s Aiwa Owners website as I`ve lost the details?
LG Hacks
Does anyone have hacks for either the LG DVD 4210 or DVD 4710?
Also, any opinions on the Thomson DVD player?
Aiwa XDDV 170 for £129.99!
Advertised in several editions of "Daily Mail", the Aiwa XDDV 170 is available from Empire Direct at only £129.99! That`s a hundred quid off retail.
OK, so there`s no remote hack (yet!) but I`ve been told a chip hack is forthcoming. At the very least it`s a great second DVD player and almost portable size.
Visit www.empiredirect.co.uk
Worth considering!
RE: aiwa xd dv170 (To: atomant)
Was your Aiwa XD-DV170 already multi-region as standard or did you require a code?

aja
RE: AIWA DV 370 IS THIS FOR REAL??????
Smelly Sox,
I have not altered ANY of the internal workings of the 370 at all therefore I can only assume that the hack has defeated the macro!
Has anyone else been successful in taping any of the DVDs I mentioned onto the brands of VCRs listed?
In the meantime- AIWA 370 ROCKS!!!!!!!!
RE: AIWA DV 370 IS THIS FOR REAL??????
Jimbo:Qp
Why oh why do you doubt me?
I have taped (onto VHS),among others, several of the Bond DVDs without any problem. As previously stated I have managed to perform this "miracle" onto various makes of VCR.
Aiwa 370 ROCKS (while stocks last!) !!!!!!!
RE: AIWA DV 370 IS THIS FOR REAL??????
Yes Farooq, this hack is for real(although I suggest you switch the power off for longer than the "few seconds" recommended") and has been available for several weeks now. And yes it did disable the macro on my 370 although some of the other forum contributors disagree!
Since doing the hack I have recorded R1 and R2 discs onto Mitsibushi,Panasonic and Hitachi vcrs without any problems.
By the way, AIWA 370 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. You got one just in time as I`ve heard Aiwa are no longer selling them in the UK!

RE: Does anyone have a hack for aiwa XD-DV370
Jimbo:op Macro DEFINETELY disabled! I have also recorded "TWINE" onto Panasonic, Akai and Hitachi VCRs!
Why do you doubt everyone`s opinion and experience/knowledge?
AIWA 370 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I assume you have a AIWA 370 so why do you need an internal photo of mine? I`ve made no physical adjustments as I,ve only used the remote hack.

RE: Does anyone have a hack for aiwa XD-DV370
Jimbo :op
My macro is indeed disabled. I have tested this fact by recording "The World Is Not Enough" onto VHS using my Mitsubishi VCR.
AIWA 370 ROCKS!!!!!!
RE: Does anyone have a hack for aiwa XD-DV370
I too had probs with the hack but left my Aiwa 370 switched off overnight and, hey presto, the hack worked!
So do the hack again and switch off your dvd for a little longer than the hack suggests.
P.S. Once the hack kicks in the Macro encoding is disabled as well!
