http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_6&products_id=106966

or these with a slide to expose the USB plug:

The Dane elec seem to have the better keyring point.

Hope this helps.

Argos Charging Twice For Each Transaction

I bought two items on the evening of Friday 24th October at the Wigan Robin Park branch. I partially paid by Argos Voucher and the remainder by credit card.

Upon checking my card account, I noticed that two identical transactions had been debited from my account.

I`ve just been to the branch to find out why, only to be told that there was a fault with the system that day which doubled charged everybody. From what I can gather this is a nationwide problem, I posted this on moneysavingexpert & this happened to someone in Belfast.

Luckily my transaction was on credit card, I`m sure there are other people who paid by debit card and could possibly have been overdrawn by this error.

RE: JupiterDVD - Has Anyone Used These Before?

Thanks for all the comments.

My initial gut feeling was caution. I hope for the few people who have ordered DVDs that they are delivered.

JupiterDVD - Has Anyone Used These Before?

Has anyone used this website before:

www.jupiterdvd.co.uk

I`m trying to get hold of Disneys Snow White & Sleeping Beauty for my little girl. This is the only place I`ve found which has the UK Region. I usually use Play, CD Wow, BangCD, Amazon but none of these have them.

I know Snow White was deleted from Disneys catalogue, not sure about Sleeping Beauty so it cannot be ordered from the suppliers.

Hope you guys can help

RE: early 90`s cavalier - hazard warning light problem

My 1994 Cavalier used to do this (before it died). It was really annoying, esspecially when I put my hazards on when the traffic came to a sudden stop on the motorway to let others know behind me.

I used to pinch the released button with my thumb & index finger quite tightly & pull it outwards. You will feel a click which will allow you to push the button back in.

I`m not sure how to get the button out for replacement, I think I chucked my Haines manual out. I`ll have a dig to see if I can find it.

Hope this helps for the moment

RE: 2 Free BabySham Glasses

Thanks for this. Just put in for mine.

RE: Seagate External Firewire & USB2.0 HDD 400GB - £79.99!!

Managed to get on of these 400GB Seagates from Chester store. For some reason I thought the price was £79.99 without the voucher so when it scanned at £89.91 I mentioned others had got it for £79.99 so he price reduced it. I`ve only just got back and wanted to post thanks and noticed they should be £89.99. Whoops, not sure how I managed to blag £10 off just like that.

As of 1pm today there were 2 in Birkenhead store.

Sorry, forgot to add Thanks to OP.

RE: Advice Needed - Parcel Refused Delivery

Just got a refund on my credit card for just the doll, they have charged me for the non delivery!

To date they have offered no explanation as to what went wrong, only numerous emails asking whether I wanted the parcel re-delivered (which they would charge me for) or a refund. I replied every time to their requests, but still kept getting one back asking.

By not refunding the delivery charge, they are in my eyes assuming I am the guilty party in all this. I have just fired off yet another angry email requesting answers.

Advice Needed - Parcel Refused Delivery

Hope you guys can shed some light on this:

I recently ordered a Baby Born doll for my daughter from TheEntertainer. Having waited the recommended 10 days for delivery, nothing had arrived. I emailed them to query this and they replied with this:

Hi,

thank you for your enquiry.
I have investigated the non-arrival of your parcel and it appears that the parcel was refused at the delivery point on the 24th October at 12.42pm.
Is it possible that someone was at home and not expecting a package to be delivered.
It is now on its way back to us here now.
Please advise on re-delivery.

Kind Regards
Sally Jackson
Customer Services Supervisor

I am 100% certain that nobody was home on that day at that time so how can this happen. I presume a signature would have to be obtained before the courier will accept a refusal and return to sender.
I sent a blunt reply to this requesting to see the courier`s documentation so I can prove nobody from my house refused delivery of the parcel.
They replied basically saying "Our courier service has let us down and we need to take issue with them".

Is this deemed as fraud as a courier has effectively took away a parcel and declared it as refused instead of doing the norm and popping a card in my letterbox stating a new delivery time/day or a pick up from depot.

Thanks

Ronseal "No Rust" paint 75% off at B&Q

I was looking for some Hammerite or similar paint for wrought iron gates and after looking in several shops ended up in B&Q St. Helens.

I found the Ronseal version of Hammerite for £3.06 for 750ml (reduced from £12.?? and £1.34 for 250ml (reduced from £5.??)

They have quite a few colours in both hammered and smooth types.

Not sure if this is nationwide or just my store getting rid of surplus. It wasn`t just the odd tin, all the range was reduced.

RE: Help needed to find a suitable atx motherboard :)

I`ve got 2 of these Acorp motherboards. Did you by any chance get them from the Time stall at Bowlers within a "Cube" case? I bought these barebones cases to build PCs for the kids but haven`t got round to finishing them yet.

At the time I bought them, the guy behind the counter offered me a Pentium 4 motherboard which would fit inside it for £10. I stupidly declined (being an AMD fan) and didn`t realise that half decent Socket A processors would be so difficult to locate at a reasonable price. The form factor for this motherboard is Flex ATX which seem to be a bit thin on the ground. Apart from the one offered to me at Bowlers (cannot remember make), I`ve never found this form in anything but Socket A and VIA onboard CPUs.

I know this doesn`t help much, but P4 motherboards must exist as I was offered one.

RE: Sky Free To Air/View Problems

Thanks for the responses.

I ended up phoning Sky and was put through to a very helpful engineer. He said our box was quite old and needed a software update. We`ve got a Grundig GDS 200/1. To do this we had to:

Unplug the power supply.
Press and hold the "Back Up" button on the box whilst plugging the power supply in.
Continue holding "Back Up" until the TV screen displays "Updating System Software, Do Not Disconnect". This takes about 10 minutes.
When the screen disappears, wait a further 2 minutes. Then press TV then Sky on the remote.

All problems have now been sorted, I hope this is helpful to any others with similar problems.

Sky Free To Air/View Problems

I`ve got a Sky digital box with a cancelled subscription (17 months ago) Sky card which I use to get the free channels. I`ve noticed problems recently getting certain channels which I would normally get. The main one being channel 620 (Tiny Pop) which my 2 year old loves. I can`t get any channel past 283, it just goes back to 101. If you type a number in it just gives "channel unavailable". I can`t get any TV listings from the sky guide. CH4 & CH5 have disappeared also.
I used to be able to access certain channels (620 included) using the blue "favourites" button, but typing 620 directly resulted in "channel unavailable".
Is anyone else having problems like this? or is my box on the way out?

Many thanks in advance if anyone can help as my daughter is going spare as its her bedtime treat!

RE: My Blueyonder connection speed has just been upped to 4meg today..

I live in Haydock, St.Helens and mine has been upped to 4 meg.

Thanks Boiledbrain for the info.

RE: Sky Digital (As Freeview) Problems

Thanks aljar. I already have a freeview box (with an average set top aerial). My dilemma now is whether to pay for a card for the Sky box or put up with the intermittant picture quality of the Freeview box. The Sky box got moved to the bedroom (where the Freeview box is) when we got Telewest, and I haven`t got round to sorting a decent outside aerial for it yet.
I think I`ll go for the card for now as I can`t see me getting round to sorting the aerial out for a while yet.

RE: Sky Digital (As Freeview) Problems

Sorry, wrong terminology. I meant Free To View (FTV). Browsing through old forums, I found answer myself

here

I couldn`t understand why normal terrestrial channels which are available to just about anyone with a TV weren`t available.

Sky Digital (As Freeview) Problems

Does anyone have a Sky Digital box without a subscription (ie a freeview box). Our subscription ran out in March when we moved over to Telewest. We kept the box, dish etc and hoped to use it as a freeview box.
The set up works, but the channels are strange. We get BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, ITV2 & ITV3 amongst others, but we don`t get CH4, CH5, or E4 which are all free through normal freeview.
Does anyone else have these problems or are they to be expected?

RE: Portable DVD Player £19.99 at Sainsburys

Which Sainsburys did you get it from? I went to Wigan & they said they hadn`t had any for months. They mentioned a Philiips portable model as well which also hadn`t been in stock for months.
