Panasonic v Panasonic v Sony
I`m just about to take the plunge into the world of DVD recorders (I know, I`m late again) and have got my list down to 3 models. Has anybody got any opinions or had any experience that may sway me one way or the other.
I`m looking at either Panasonics DMREX75 or the new DMREX77 or the Sony RDRHXD860.
Any thoughts gratefully received. Thanks.

I migfht be being a bit thick here but ........ I`ve got the PSP Base Pack in my Basket on the Woollies site and have entered the `friends` code which does indeed get the price down to £134.99 but there doesn`t appear to be any games included !!
Is it me ??? Am I missing something here ???
EDIT -

Philips DVD Recorder - £129.99 @ Sainsburys
There was piles of Philips DVD Recorders in the Sainsburys at Ashton, Bristol yesterday at £129.99. I think the model was DVDR3305 - any good anybody ??
I know it`s not the cheapest DVD recorder on the market but surely that`s not a bad price for a Philips.
RE: New PayPal Discount Code

RE: Walkers crisps Ipod giveaway (every 5 mins)
There is a `No Purchase Necessary` method on the web-site which gives you a code that you can text in. What the betting that there`s loads of people who are getting dozens and dozens of codes and then blitzing on of the five minute sections in the hope of increasing their odds of success (I know - I tried it on the second day and failed miserably). Try it too much and you may as well buy the iPod in the first place the amount it`s going to cost in text messages !!
RE: PayPal 10% Discount Code *UPDATED* New codes!
Just tried the code and it doesn`t seem to work anymore. Got the message :
"This Redemption Code has expired and can no longer be used."
Oh well.... :(
RE: Free Hubble DVD - 40,000 copies only - offer ends 20 May
I asked for it, got several emails from them about other things so I must have typed the address right - but no DVD :( .
Anybody not really want theirs ??? :D
RE: Homecall Broadband + Calls Only £19.99 / month
Cheers guys.
Yeah, planned to keep the line rental with BT anyway like you suggest. I must admit to being a bit wary of things like this and tend to pay over the odds for the `original` supplier but with this one I think I must just take the plunge into the Broadband age !
Homecall Broadband + Calls Only £19.99 / month
Homecall (www.homecall.co.uk) are offering unlimited 512K broadband plus all day free local and national calls (like BT Option 3) for only £19.99 per month. You still have to pay for your line rental on top (BT = £10.50 / month) but they do this as well for £9.99 / month. Almost sounds too good to be true !!
I`ve been looking at this for a couple of days now and can`t see the catch (if there is one). If you know any different.......
They also offer £12.50 call credit for you and a friend if you recommend them. I`m happy to be anybodys friend when my account is set up !!!! Drop me a line.
:D
RE: Boots: Slim PS2 + Gran Turismo 4 + £5 worth of loyalty points for under £100
Just tried to order the PS2 Bundle for my boy using this code (as it`s back in stock) but get the message :
Sorry, but the promotional code you have used is not valid at this time
Oh well.
Guess it`s off to Currys who I think have the same bundle with another game for the same price !!
PS2 Disk Drive Replacement
Hi
My little boys PS2 has suddenly stopped reading disks - any disks ! I was just about to go down the cleaning route when my brother-in-law offered me his PS2 for spares which was recently `nuked` in a lightening storm and replaced by his insurance co. I`ve had the top off his old machine and the drive unit is only held by 2 screws but I can`t figure out how to disconnect the ribbon connector from the board and I don`t want to force it. Anybody got any advice on how to best disconnect this cable ?? Cheers. :D

Mico Espejo R311 DVD Recorder < £100 At Sainsburys
Just back from the local (to work) Sainsburys at Ashton, Bristol and they`re knocking out a big stack of Mico Espejo R311 DVD Recorders for £99.95 - Clearance Bargain !!
RE: Gamecube bundle for £32.99 - Virgin backs down!
Forgive me here but I for one do not feel sorry for the retailers at all. OK they made an honest mistake but they should put their hands up to it and honour their customers as they would have to in the High Street. Otherwise, whats to stop them sticking mega-cheap bargains on their web-sites to entice customers in, hoping that they spend their hard-earned on some other items while they`re in there, and then selectively picking off the customers who don`t meet their spend profile.
Also, why do they always have to have it their way ! When another big supermarket omitted to give me my cashaback one day, even though I realised within minutes of leaving the shop I couldn`t have my money until the tills had been cashed up !
Living 120 miles from this particular store meant that I had to spend ages on the phone to their customer services explaining the situation over and over again only to be given vouchers `to the value of` in the end !!!
No, I`m sorry. In this case I think you are all right to go for what has been advertised and accepted as an order. Good luck to you all.
RE: PS2 Backups
Oooh we`ve come over all `holier than thou` now have we. Am I to assume then that you don`t have a single piece of copied music on CD or cassette in your house or car, you`ve never `borrowed` a video from a mate, or kept something you`ve taped from the television - it`s all the same.
As a matter of fact if I sample something and find that I like it I would always much prefer to have the original copy with the original packaging. As a semi-pro musician I am all too well aware of the damage that piracy is doing to many industries. I like to keep my cd`sa, dvd`s, games etc in good condition and in order where I know exactly where they are, whereas my `little angel` prefers to leave the booklets on the floor where they get trodden into the carpet, likes to put the last game he used back in the box of the next one he`s playing (and cries when he can`t find it next time) and anything he leaves lying about ends up being partially eaten by my 2 year old daughter !! And of course when you ask him about it "it wasn`t me !".
Give me a break guys and help me out here. I`ve spent a fortune in the past couple of months buying 15 - 20 games for me and him (admittedly some from eBay) and would like to not have to keep buying them again every couple of months because they are unusable !!
PS2 Backups
I`ve obtained a chipped PS2 from a colleague at work with several games. My four year old wants to play but I don`t want him to make a mess of the games like he has with the PS1 ones so thought getting backups for him (originals for me) might be a good solution.
Anybody know where I can get backups for a reasonable price from ?
RE: Bargains Galore at LX Direct
Has anybody received anything yet ?
I used the £25 off and free P&P codes for a Gameboy Advance SP a week ago - got the confirmation email and everything but no goods yet, and no transaction on the credit card !! Are they processing these or not ? Any ideas anyone ?
RE: Argos clearance 75% *OFF* loads of items, starts Fri Oct 8
Where are you all getting your information & catalogue nos from. My local Agroes (deliberate) tell me they don`t know what is on the list but they can check if I`ve got a catalogue number !?!?!?!?
