Panasonic v Panasonic v Sony

smevs (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 30th May 2007, 11:19

I`m just about to take the plunge into the world of DVD recorders (I know, I`m late again) and have got my list down to 3 models. Has anybody got any opinions or had any experience that may sway me one way or the other.

I`m looking at either Panasonics DMREX75 or the new DMREX77 or the Sony RDRHXD860.

Any thoughts gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi
I have the DMREX75, had it about 7 months now. I`m very pleased with mine.

Did a bit of digging around, The 2 pannys are the same price at SVP about £250 plus p&p minus £10 Google checkout

The sony is about £50 more but has DivX support. best price i could see for the sony was £297 HERE

Do you need DivX? is it worth £50 extra?

Of the 2 pannys, I`d go for the new model for the 1080p image quality

EDIT- just seen a sony HERE for £250 I think its the same one, but its listed as a HXD860, not the RDRHXD860S in the above link :/
