Cambridge Audio M1+ and Wharfedale 750s

Can anyone tell me if they have got this remote to work with the 750s` dodgy rotating codes please, its driving me barmy!

RE: Burning VCD`s

Basically it sounds like you have done the hard bit, i.e converted the video to a video-cd format mpeg file.

All you need now is cd-rom burning software that has vcd/svcd image creating facilities. Aheads Nero 5+ does the job for me nicely and if you go to their site you can download a free demo version.

Good luck!

RE: PLEASE, VCD`s

check out........

www.video-cds.com

They seem pretty reasonable and Ive had good service from them before!

RE: Wharfedale - NEED HELP

Maybe its an interference thing? Are you running composite or RGB through the scart or an s-video connection? Also if you are using RGB through the scart are you using a switch box with other equipment plugged in as well, this can cause the RGB picture to look a little darker than it should but ive must have admit Ive never seen it go light to dark and vice-versa...

Hope this helps......

RE: Wharfedale 750s brightness problem?

The NTSC is irrelevant to me since I use RGB as I mentioned. The 750s does have a couple of different PAL settings like the reverse setting, try changing these to see if one works better in the setup menu. Other than that maybe its just faulty??

RE: Wharfedale 750s brightness problem?

I certainly havent noticed this myself, however I do use the RGB connection so perhaps thats why I dont see it. What type of connection are you using? RGB, S-video, Composite?

RE: HOT NEWS FOR WHARFEDALE OWNERS

Before anyone has a mad panic attack my 750s plays The Thing R2 without a hitch, I`ll try Jaws R1 tonight.

Perhaps just a faulty player???

RE:

I had exactly the same problem and in the end the only way I could get a perfect picture was by going RGB, now its spot on! Found exactly the same with SKY digital....

RE: vcd on my matsui

The DVD110 plays VCD`s along as their originals since as we know the Player cant read CDR`s or CDRW`s. However you do need to enable the function since it doesnt come as standard.

To enable VCD`s perform the following:

Put an audio CD in the drive,
Press Stop, Menu, 9, All, Open

You will then get a prompt asking if you want to enable VCD playback, press 1 to enable and off you go!!

Cheers

RE: 2 RGB outputs but only one RGB socket!

I use the B-TECH 3 way switch box which lets me connect my digibox, dvd and playstation all to the one RGB scart.

Check out www.beyondhifi.com thats where I got mine from.....

RE: How would I know if I have a 750 or 750S..

A 750s has "750s" on the box and the front of the machine. If this doesnt appear its not a 750s!!

RE: Forgive the newbie question!

What I`ve found on my 32" Phillips Widescreeen is that there are two modes that I need to use depending on the widescreen film being watched.

"Widescreen" mode works for most films but sometimes, and I guess it must be something to do with the films because Ive seen the same on my old Matsui player, this causes the symptoms you are seeing, i.e it looks like the film has been letterboxed really badly.

To get around this I choose "16x9" which puts the film back to the correct aspect ratio with the normal small black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.

You need to make sure you keep the player set to 16x9 to take advantage of anamorphic widescreen.

If you have a different TV mode as opposed to Widescreen or Zoom that resembles something like my "16x9" I would suggest trying that. For info there doesnt seem to be anyway of telling which films behave differently to your normal 1.85/2.35:1 films and require this "16x9" mode.

Good luck.....

RE: Wharfedale 750s & MP3s

Pretty much any burning software (ive used easy cd creator and CDRWIN and both worked a treat!) in any directory structure you fancy. The 750s will just play each one in the order it finds them! Lovely!

RE: Wharfedale 750S plays mp3?

Yes the 750s plays mp3`s really well however for some reason I cant get the audio to use the digital out, in either BITSTREAM or PCM, very strange as DVD`s, audio CD`s and VCD`s all work fine. Just get the audio through the normal SCART connection to the TV.

Any one else seen this problem?
