"Ghosting" problem - please help
I`ve recently bought a Toshiba SD100E. Great player (for me anyway) but whilst watching Gladiator I noticed some ghosting mainly when white is on black. Eg. on the trailers, when the text comes up "A General" etc... the word has a white block fading out to the right of it. I also noticed whilst watching the film that candle flames were ghosting through heads, objects etc. I have now noticed this happening on other films on my TV (not necessarily on DVD) which is making me think it`s a TV problem. I have connected my DVD via SCART and it is not going via anything else however, it is sat between a video player and Sky digital box. Hope this makes sense. Thanks.
I suggest that you take everything out of the loop and plug the DVD directly into the TV for a quick test. If you still see the ghosting, then its your TV. Can you try another type of connection such as S-video?
If not, maybe the TV needs upgraded. Not cheap I`m afraid!

Gareth
If your tv has a sharpness control try softening the picture slightly ,i find it helps with some video machines.

I had that problem
it was fixed by making sure that when playing a dvd the TV was on the AV channel not any other (I use scart so it overrides every channel).
Other channels could cause some ghosting from previous menus etc. on some disks, Heat was one.
But put on AV and it was fixed, I have DVD player going thru VCR.
I had exactly the same problem and in the end the only way I could get a perfect picture was by going RGB, now its spot on! Found exactly the same with SKY digital....
Thanks to you all. I`ve done what lumpy has suggested and found that it does work. I have also turned the brightness down a liitle.
Again, thanks very much. All I need now is a R1 hack for it. I`ve tried the ones suggested in the hacks forum but unfortunately they do not work.
