2 RGB outputs but only one RGB socket!

nickwelham (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 8th December 2000, 18:40

I have a Sony TV with 3 SCART sockets, but only one of them supports RGB, the other 2 are just S-Video. My digibox is already connected through RGB, but I also want to connect my Panasonic DVD player through RGB, rather than S-Video. Does anyone know where to get a splitter or some other means of connecting both DVD player & digibox through RGB?

I use the B-TECH 3 way switch box which lets me connect my digibox, dvd and playstation all to the one RGB scart.

Check out www.beyondhifi.com thats where I got mine from.....

Yeah, buy one of the new breed of Digital amps that route all the signals thorugh it removing the need for the switchbox!

Or just enable SVideo on yer Panny and route it through AV2 with a scart lead!!

And if that doesnt work, but ya got an Svideo mini din, buy a connector kit of: Svideo minidin cable, 2 x phono to phono cable, scart plug with Svideo minidin and phono inputs.
Usually these are made for PC DVD and have a 3.5mm jack on the phono cables, so you could 1)replace the phono cable or 2) cut the 3.5 off and solder two new phono connectors to it.

The PC connectivity kit version is available at Currys Dixons and Comet, all around £25. (I think they`re made by Belkin or summat like that)

Hope this helps! :o)
