I remember hearing something different! (I could be wrong!)

I think there was a mention of a hack a few months ago that disappeared with the 120 model. I`ll check for you.

Thats multi region Carrot, and theres a new one for the 120.

The 110, if I remember correctly, didn`t have VCD capability, only DVD and CDaudio.
And there is NO WAY to get either of them to read a CDR.
(Trust me, I`ve tried about 20 different discs with both!)

Your probably right Jimbo, but I`ll keep looking for the Matsui`er.

The 100 definitely did do VCD, I seem to remember that. But remembering Dixons old bad ways they probably flogged some 100`s of as 110`s.

Sue Me Dixons!

Are you sure the the Matsui 110 doesn`t play vcds?
Look closely theres a lcd badge of the word/characters VCD.
You can play VCDs, having a extensive batch of originals means that I`ve chucked aside my VCD player, however you need the region hack (been quite a while since I did it so check out the links if its still there).
Some titles don`t seem to work, but if it palys its as good as any VCD player.
Copied. Works a treat, just seems to need a original VCD played for around 10-15 minutes after you`ve watched a DVD.
Hopefully thats of some help, brighten your mood a tad bit and look though the whole contents of the website.
(doing my homework now so unable to waste any further time doing research)$:¬}

The DVD110 plays VCD`s along as their originals since as we know the Player cant read CDR`s or CDRW`s. However you do need to enable the function since it doesnt come as standard.

To enable VCD`s perform the following:

Put an audio CD in the drive,
Press Stop, Menu, 9, All, Open

You will then get a prompt asking if you want to enable VCD playback, press 1 to enable and off you go!!

Cheers

Thanks Lumpy, I knew the player didn`t do it as standard!

And Carrot? There never was a 100 as far as I know, just the 110 and the current 120??
