Thankyou Emily, Could you just emphasise a bit more regarding the recording speed.....as i dont understand why you need to download `firmware` to cope with higher number discs(ie 4x 8x etc) if it will only record 1x1? Cheers Dave
LITEON 5005 1-4X DVD-R?
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if this machine will play 4x speed discs as standard, as packaging on the EMTF discs say that if it is only 2X may not play, I got a blank dvd-r 8x and it recorded and played fine....... what is the current presetting for this machine if purchased recently?
I looked at the firmware update provided by liton and was totally baffled! I might just take a chance and buy them, pc world has 50 for 19.99 good buy? Cheers

Hi, can anyone explain to me as simple as possible, about cd-r/cd-rw and dvd-r/rw. On a dvd recorder can i record onto a cd-r disc to watch proggs off tv/sky etc? Also will a dvd+rw machine play dvd-rw discs? And will most dvd players that are cd-r cd-rw play dvd-r and dvd-rw/+rw that i record off a recorder that specifies this format.
Confusing? I hope not to somebody!........Dave

Hi, Could you tell me what kind of machine is the rdrgx3? any info as much as poss appreciated, editing scarts sockets etc etc, I was also looking at the lite on 5005 but the sony is only 60quid dearer..........Cheers

right can anybody tell me the main differences between the gx3 and gx300? Also if I want to play a burned disc onto a regular dvd player that has cd-r capability which software is best dvd-r or dvd+r?
Also can anyone tell me what the gx3 is like as a machine and does it have good editing functions........
