sony dvd recordable rdrgx3 and gx300 advise please!

:/ Hi all,
right can anybody tell me the main differences between the gx3 and gx300? Also if I want to play a burned disc onto a regular dvd player that has cd-r capability which software is best dvd-r or dvd+r? Also can anyone tell me what the gx3 is like as a machine and does it have good editing functions........
