The QED scart cables are very good,the construction of them is excellent and they use a very solid plug!
The down side is they cost #50 or #45 for a 1 metre length from GILSON AUDIO tel 01642 248793.

The Mission 70AS sub woofer is ok,but you would be better off finding an ex-demo REL.Or alternatively buy a pair of Monitor Audio silver 5i floorstanders and do without the sub and the 701s altogether.

Hi! Toby if you fancy a Yamaha DSP-A5 try www.letsbuyit.com its only #219.If you use it with the Aiwa use co-axial digital rather than optical as its much better quality.

It is not always a good idea to buy all in one units,as not only quality suffers,but if the amp goes faulty then you cannot play your dvd,combined units always tend to be unreliable,one mains transformer feeding both units etc.
So your best bet would be something like a lecson or wharfedale and the videologic package.

HI! Jimbo,I would pass on the JBL if was,they tend to be better at speakers than electronics,if you are after a cheapish amp go for a denon or yamaha

Of the four machines you mention I would have no hesitation in going for the lecson.These machines are only available from Debenhams,but come from the same brains behind the Wharfedale.Also if you did happen to get a rouge machine you should get decent aftersales service.
