RE: Top 10 movies of 2008
Mine would be as follows:
1. WALL-E (Best Pixar ever, in my opinion)
2. Iron Man
3. Changeling
4. Australia (why does everyone hate this? It`s fab-u-lous!)
5. The Dark Knight
6. The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas
7. Kung Fu Panda
8. Indiana and the Silly Skulls
9. Sweeny Todd
10. Mamma Mia (just cos no-one else has it up there!)
Honorable mention goes to Quantum of Solace for being the biggest pile of poo of the year (story? where? what? why... oh never mind!)
..and yes, I am, before you ask :-)

RE: Best films of 2007? Top 10?
Saw loads of great films last year, but only have a definite Top 3; these being Hairspray (by far the best musical since Grease), Enchanted (love the idea of Disney taking the Mickey (mouse) out of itself) and Stardust (De Niro doing the Can Can - need I say more?).
I absolutely hated The Bourne Supremacy for the same reasons as the earlier poster (wasn`t the average scene length something like point 9 of a second? Made me feel ill). Pirates 3 was astonishingly bad, with no story or humour of any kind and I`m afraid I also hated Hot Fuzz (even if I did take a surprising interest in Mr Pegg in his police uniform!). I laughed once during the entire film.
Just back from the US, where we saw Sweeny Todd (and it`s just MEGA!) National Teasure 2 is also very, very good.
RE: Transfomers HD DVD - is it region free?

Transfomers HD DVD - is it region free?
Hi folks
I have the HD player for the Xbox 360 and was wondering if the newly released US version of Transformers will play on my player?
Not quite sure whether HD and Blu-ray discs are region coded or not...
Thanks for any advice.
David
RE: So - what was your favourite movie of 2006??
Ooh! I love this bit of the year - usually cos my choices are SOOOOOOOOOO differnent from all you other chappies (and ladies).
Top 3 of 2006: 1 Just Like Heaven (fab Reece!) 2 The Lake House (fab Sandra!) 3 Little Miss Sunshine (fab Toni, and Steve Carell with facial hair - yum!)
Most Hated movie of the year: No question... Pan`s F***ing Hellhole! (I wanted to fling myself under a bus when I came out from that one) Glad to see it`s top of so many other lists...
I LOVE to be unique.

RE: Firefly-15.99 at CD Wow!
Or you could use one of the HMV vouchers given out with their pre Christmas sales. I used the £2 off any dvd to get my copy of Firefly for the same price of £15.99!

RE: Cheap PSP memory
Woolies are doing a deal at the moment whereby if you buy any PSP game, or the console, you can get a SanDisk 512MB or 1GB memory stick for half price.
I picked up Everybody`s Golf yesterday for £34.99 and got a 1GB memory stick for £49.99.
I thought that was quite a good buy!

RE: Biggest film disappointment of 2004?
Well, I`m sorry, but I thought Lost in Translation was the biggest pile of poo I`ve seen in many a long year...
All those shots of Miss Dullsville "I have no life" sitting on the windowsill in her pants - jeez! - I bet she had piles after that!
What was your favourite movie of 2004?
Lots to chose from this year, with Big Fish, Shrek 2, Spidey 2 etc being amongst my top films, but my personal absolute fave was the much under-rated "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow".
"Alert the amphibious squadron..." being my absolute fave line from any movie this year!
RE: The Official Star Wars Trilogy Thread - all others will be closed !
Yeah...anyway... What I really want to know is...
Is Chewbacca gay?
During that bit in Episode 4 where he`s being taken up to the cells by Han and Luke and scares the little mousey robot thing, he lets out the campest little roar when it runs away.
PLUS... He`s all over Han Solo like a rash when Han gets defrosted from his Tupperware Dish, cuddling him and everything.
AND... just why HAS he stayed with his "pal" for all that time, through thick and thin?
Personally, I think George should have morphed on some leather man gear to Chewie and maybe a wee peaked cap in some of the scences...
RE: What film do you watch the most on DVD?
Hmm.. well my most watched DVD of the last 18 months or so is the fabulous "Far from Heaven" (Julianne Moore was robbed of that Oscar!). Works for me on so many different levels both visually and emotionally.
My other two most watched would have to be "To Wong Foo" (I have NEVER been able to look at Wesley Snipes in any other film agin without thinking of him in that orange skirt!) and the Camp-as-a-row-of-tents "Can`t Stop The Music". Both terrific feel-good and fun movies.
Ooh...do I detect a bit of theme here?
PHILIPS DVDR880 region hack (again - sorry!)
I`ve done the region hack with the All for One 6 remote, but that only succeeds in making the machine Region 1 compatible, and won`t play region 2 discs. If I change the last few digits of the code to include a 2 then it reverts back to Region 2, and no Region 1 compatibility!
Any way of making the hack permanent to play both Regions 1 and 2?
Cheers for your help!
