What was your favourite movie of 2004?

Lots to chose from this year, with Big Fish, Shrek 2, Spidey 2 etc being amongst my top films, but my personal absolute fave was the much under-rated "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow".

"Alert the amphibious squadron..." being my absolute fave line from any movie this year!

Not really a standout year for me. Of everything I`ve seen, I`d probably rate Eternal Sunshine as the best. Donnie Darko gets a mention because of the director`s cut. Other than that it`s all been pretty standard popcorn stuff. Spidey 2 was alright, but nothing else really sticks in the mind...

Collateral springs to mind. I adored that film.

I was really looking forward to Sky Captain but I thought it was a huge disappointment. Full of great ideas, just poorly executed. Great last line though. :D

Of course, the Return Of The King EE will be out in a few weeks...

Will answer this in 2005, although Van Helsing is probably gonna get it ;)

Possibly `Gozu` as it`s constantly shouting to be re-watched to see if it makes better sense this time. Top marks for originality and creativity though possibly a little contrived... I agree; not a standout year for movies though there`s bound to be something momentous that I`ve forgotten!

Without a doubt, the best film i saw this year was Lost In Translation, but best 2004 cinema release was DotD `04 for me

Bitterly disappointed by Van Helsing, but i didn`t expect much anyway.

However, as already pointed out, ROTK: EE is out soon, and as it`s a new cut of the movie, technically it could be classed as a new `04 film, so....

I completely forgot Shaun. Seems like it was released longer ago. That`s definitely in my list of top films. Didn`t really like BS as much as BI.

I really enjoyed "21 Grams". Shame about the shocking DVD though.
