Optical sound card for laptop-- minidisc to laptop

Hi
I have some songs on Minidisc and would like to put them on my computer , how do I get them on to the laptop please, I am presuming I need to buy some kind of sound card with optical in thats plugs into the side of the laptop

Change tunes on an Ipod from any computer-Help!!!

a friend has asked me to update her i pod with new songs and remove some old songs which are currently on the Ipod but either im stupid or it cant be done
I already have i tunes installed on my PC (used for a jukebox ony) but when i plug in the IPOD it doesnt synch.
I try loading the CD that came with the Ipod, once it has gone through the basic set up it says Ipod needs to be reformatted Ipod updater 2005-02-07
when you press update it gives you 2 more options

Update - puts the latest system sofware on your Ipod
restore- completely erases your Ipod and restores factory settings, all your music will be erased..

The `update` function is not available I can only restore which will meen I will lose all the music currently on there.
Am I doing something wrong??? all i want to do is remove a few songs and put new one on there please help...
please note I am not using the original computer the tunes were put onto the Ipod with

Windows XP
a mini Ipod

and a sore brain......

Saving live/historic radio streams to CD/DVD...

Hi,
I love listening to `essential mix` on radio 1 but its on at 2am in the morning. I used to record this onto minidisc with the timer on the radio, but often got interference from the radio..

On BBC.CO.UK/RADIO1 you can now get historic shows, does anyone know what software I need or how can I save these on my hard Disc or copy straight to CD???
I would class myself as a beginner when it comes to this sort of stuff..so any help much apreciated

dont know if they are the cheapest.. but bought a Sony was 110gbp cheaper than when on a kelkoo UK search...

i admit that I am having it delivery to a US address as a friend of mine wil be bringing it back for me... you may have to pay more for Intl shipping...

when you deal with a company that has many stores across britain theyu sually price match their other store.s as long as its not on managers special.
managers special is usually priced according with supply/demand in that area.

Have look where someone managed to get a copy for 27.99 then tell your local branch, they will ring up said branch, and you should get it for 27.99.
Dixons, currys, and WHSmiths have all honored this policy with me in the past.

If you have ordered by credit card and the company have taken your money.. The CC company should refund you. They will also look into why the goods have not turned up.

i have T-Mobile PAYG and O2 Contract...

The T mobile Sim card works in the O2 phone
But The O2 Sim DOES NOT work in the T Mobile phone...

I.m sure a trip to the local market with 10gbp with change this though....

well just been to the O2 shop and even more confused.. they tell me to contact customer services(50p a minute no thanks) as ,and this is the really strange bit, O2 online is free but it run as a seperate company to O2contract so prices will be different, also if you sign up to O2 via an independant shop i.e. phones 4 U, you are connected through a different service provider.. thus services and prices will be different???...

but..i have just signed up to 02 on a contract i.m a bit confused do you have to pay for the games acarde, or for any WAP services???
I have an old O2 PAYG sim, if WAP is free i.ll put that in the phone download the games etc then swap back to the O2 contract SIM.

read the terms conditions it adds 2.75% onto the transaction but as i mentioned before it will only show you the exchange rate on your bill this wiil include the 2.75% commision..so you think you are not getting charged..

Its also worth noting that the FX rate is applied on the day the CC receives the claim from the company you purchased the product from..,Not the day you purchased the item so if you purchase some thing when the rate is 1.45, if the company you purchased the DVD from doesnt claim the money from the CC lets say a week later and the rate is 1.40 you will get 1.40...
with internet transactions its very rare there will be a time delay, but if you purchase something abroad and they still use those paper slips that imprint your details, this will effect the price used..

Nationwide does not charge any extra for CC transactions abroad OR cash advances

it also give you 0.5% cash back on everything you spend. Which will save you in commision.

VISA sets the exchange rate, then your CC will add (usually) 2.75% ontop of the exchange rate, but they will not break this down on your bill, you will just see one exchange rate, so sometimes people think there is no extra charge, when infact it has been incorpated in the exchange rate.

Nationwide gives you the rate VISA sets and thats all.

Note...It charges 1% on cash advances abroad, but so do most debit cards....

Does anyone know a good place to buy an Airband scanner..for around 100gbp.???
It needs to be able to pick up FM radio, Airband (comercial) , emergency services or miltary a bonus.. but not essential
