anyone heard of blu-jacking?
Its a good laugh - preferably if not used for stalking purposes!
(To the uninitiated it basically involves keeping your mobile`s bluetooth option turned on in busy areas and searching for other bluetooth enabled mobiles in your vicinity to whom you can send anonymous messages eg `your phone is cack, buy a Nokia XXXX`. The baffled person then wonders who it is!)

And then they find out who it is and give you a good slap like you deserve. :)
RE: anyone heard of blu-jacking?
funny this should be posted .. as last night was in the pub turned on my Bluetooth (sony T610) so my mate could send me some ringtones and its came up with 3 other peoples phones....!!!! tried to connect into thier phone but I needed there password...
Yeah, my 3650 asks for a password too if you try to connect to someone else - maybe you can send messages without needing to actually connect - anyone?

I read about this in the paper.. It something to do with sending a fake adress book entry to the `victim` with the message in the `name` field.

RE: anyone heard of blu-jacking?
The password thing is if you`re pairing with a Bluetooth device. You don`t need a password to send a `fake contact` to any Bluetooth device. You setup a fake contact and use the name field as the msg you`re sending. You then just send the contact via Bluetooth to whatever devices are discovered.
I found 3 Nokia`s and a T610 while I was on the Tube this morning, but I couldn`t see who these people were. I left it at that.

Has anyone else with a T610 found that the battery life sucks when you have Bluetooth running? Maybe I need a firmware upgrade, but at the moment it makes it almost unusable.
RE: anyone heard of blu-jacking?
Battery life is sucked by Bluetooth regardless of the device you use. Unless you`re using it, it`s better to leave Bluetooth switched off.
