Optical sound card for laptop-- minidisc to laptop

Hi I have some songs on Minidisc and would like to put them on my computer , how do I get them on to the laptop please, I am presuming I need to buy some kind of sound card with optical in thats plugs into the side of the laptop Thanks in advance
