SONY TV suffering from DVD interferance. LG DA3520, Aiwa HTDV90, Pioneer DCS100

Anyone else suffered from this..... I have a Sony 32" LS60 (100Hz)TV and (at the time) the LG DA3520 Home Cinema. The DVD player was emitting a signal through the speaker cables that was causing interferance on the TVs terrestrial channels. The more speaker cables connected the worse the interferance. This problem occurred with 2 different LG DA3520 systems. I tried ferrite rings with little success. I`m now considering either the Aiwa HTDV90 or Pioneer DCS100 so any opinions would be appreciated.

AIWA HTDV90 Macrovision disable

Anybody know of a hack to disable macrovision on the Aiwa HTDV90KS please.

MAINS POWER INTERFERANCE ON TV

My Sony LS60 TV works fine, as does my LG 3520 DVD system, but if I turn the DVD player on whilst watching a terrestrial channel on the TV I get interferance on the TV. I`ve disconnected EVERYTHING so all I have is the aerial lead into the TV and still get this interferance. I`ve plugged them into different sockets (same ring-main) and have moved the DVD as far away as the leads allow (3ft) and still the problem persists. Any answers anybody.

100Mhz TV Recommendations

Thanks for the info on the Philips TVs. I`ve been looking at the JVC 28X10EKS (£620), the Sony 28 & 32 LS60 (£650 & £750), the Panasonic TX 28 & 32 PL10 (£622 & £799) or the Thomson 32WF45 (£697), or possibly the digital Panasonic 28DT30 (£740). Does anyone have any views on these products as to which provides the best picture and sound. Thanks

VCD Hack for LG 3520

Keep hearing of a VCD hack for the LG DA3520 Home Cinema System, can someone let me in on the secret please ??

32" 100MHz TV recommendations please

Anyone with any views on the best 28" or preferably 32" 100MHz TVs. Hoping to get away with a budget of under £1000 if possible.

Multiregion Hack for Pioneer DCS100 please

Anyone know of a multiregion hack for this system ??

RE: Pioneer DCS 100 versus LG DA 3520

I had an LG DA3520 for a short period of time on home trial, I still have the option to buy this but am still considering alternatives, which is why I would like a comparison between the LG and Pioneer DCS100

Pioneer DCS 100 versus LG DA 3520

Anyone out there in DVD land have any experience of the Pioneer DCS 100 and/or the LG DA 3520. I need a one box cinema solution with a budget of around the £350 mark and these two seem to be the best contenders.

RE: Busting Macrovision

My Scart sockets on the TV are labelled as CVBS/RGB/S-Video In/Out. I`m assuming this means the S-Video Input from the DVD is converted to composite when output on a second scart to the VCR

RE: Busting Macrovision

Isn`t the internet a wonderful thing !! One Scart coupler (http://www.keene.co.uk/system/keene.htm) found.
Does this mean that by connecting the SVHS & Audio O/Ps from my DVD into a Scart Adapter, then into the coupler, then into the Macromaster, which goes to my VCR will allow DVD to VHS copies ? A bit like the thigh bone connected to the..... scenario

RE: Busting Macrovision

Not heard of such a thing, but can always make one up.

RE: Busting Macrovision

My player is the LG DV3520

RE: Busting Macrovision

Both the TV (Thomson 32WF45) and VCR (Aiwa 6500 if memory serves me right) have CVBS/RGB/SVideo scart sockets connected using a full Scart lead. Switching is automatic depending upon playing or recording signals from the VCR

RE: Busting Macrovision

One step ahead of you on that one. Awaiting an email from Sonel, even as we type....

RE: Busting Macrovision

Yes, I`m getting pulsing pictures. My concern is that this lead is designed for DVD to VCR connection and not via a TV.

RE: Busting Macrovision

Thanks for this advice. I`ll look at the innovations people.. just in case.

RE: Busting Macrovision

Yes, DVD to VHS is my goal
Yes again
The Audio from the DVD and SVHS go into a scart adapter into the television. The TV has a Scart Output to my VCR Scart Input.

RE: Busting Macrovision

Thankd for these ideas, more always welcome. As my DVD has no scart output, so will the MacroMaster work between TV and Video. My DVD will be connected to TV via SVHS.

Panasonic DCS 100 versus LG DV3520 Home Cinema

How do these systems compare. I`m looking for the cinema solution that will play MP3, CDR, CDRW, VCD, DVD etc, multiregion, but also allows audio inputs from VCR and TV and an audio output to a HiFi. In an ideal world a scart output and macrovision disabled would be wonderful, but these shortcomings can be worked around. Any ideas anyone ??

Busting Macrovision

Where can I get my hands on a Macrovision "busting" gizmo (either lead or box-of-tricks). My DVD has no scart output but uses a SVHS output which I plug into a scart adapter direct to my TV. My DVD is the
LG DV3530 Home Cinema

Cyberhome ADL528 and Videologic ZXR500 Speakers

Would this combination be considered as a godd Home Cinema package ? I could do with more details on the DVD player (reviews), especially connections, if anyone can help.

HACK FOR LG 3520

Anyone know how to disable macrovision on the LG DV3520. I`ve discovered how to make this multi-region and enable the VCD playback, but would dearly like to disable the macrovision.

LG DA 3520 Any Knowledge

I`ve read reviews concerning the LG DA3520 which mostly sing-its-praises. Having just returned an LG FDV25 due to noisy fan problems I`m concerned the DA3520 may have similar problems. I would be interested in any views or recommendations concerning this machine.

RE: LG FDV25 Noisy Fan

I really liked the LGFDV25, it looked and sounded good, picture quality was superb and the mini speakers delivered excellant sound reproduction. There are the Connections for the five surround speakers and a sub-woofer (not included), Aux (Phono) and a single Phono for video output to your tele. The package included a phono - scart adapter. No scart on the back of the LGFDV25. Apart from the noisy fan (which does become very intrusive), the other problem for me was that the Aux input does not support ANY surround sound, so connecting a Nicam Pro-Logic VCR to the aux will not achieve surround sound, only stereo. Hope this helps.

LG DA3520 Home Cinema

Anybody have any experience of this kit ? It looks good on paper and is now sub £300 (Comets). I would like info on what and how many rear connectors it has if anyone can help. Can an external audio cassette player be connected ?

Recommended DVD and Amp combination or Cinema System

Its a minefield out there and I need advice. I`m looking for a cinema setup that will produce both DTS and 5.1 through a speaker system. I assume a DVD player alone will not achieve this and would require a 5.1/DTS amp. Any recommendations (my budget is around £350).

As an alternative I`ve been looking at Cinema Systems such as the LG DA3520, anybody have any experience with this or other LG products.

Help !

Home Cinema with Audioo Cassette Player input

Is it possible to connect the audio in/out phonos of a stand alone audio cassette player into a scart connector on a 5.1 home cinema system in such a way that I can record DVD soundtracks and play cassettes through the DVD and achieve at least a stereo output.

If so can anyone recommend a macrovision free or hackable unit that would achieve this, ideally twin scarts and SVHS connectors.

Sub £250 DVD with 5.1 and DTS

Can anyone recommend a DVD player with 5.1 and DTS outputs. It must also be able to play CD/R, CD/RW and MP3s and ideally be below £250 if possible. A recommended amp to decode the 5.1 & DTS would be appreciated as well.

LG FDV25 Noisy Fan

Any other owners of the LG FDV25 noticed a noisy "cooling" fan ??
From out of the box there was no fan noise, but after 10-15mins the Fan starts working and is loud enough to be noticed during quieter audio. Now as soon as I power up, on comes the fan. The system is well ventilated, sitting on top of a display unit.
