Sub £250 DVD with 5.1 and DTS

NA ELLIOTT (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 18th February 2002, 14:04

Can anyone recommend a DVD player with 5.1 and DTS outputs. It must also be able to play CD/R, CD/RW and MP3s and ideally be below £250 if possible. A recommended amp to decode the 5.1 & DTS would be appreciated as well.

Click on the Link on this site above ^ Scan 2500 does all that for just over £100

Why would anyone bother with Scan after reading the various threads that appear on this forum ?
Anything from poor quality control to terrible after-sales service.
And they`re black, and they`re not significantly cheaper than quality bit`s of kit like the Tosh 210 and Pioneer 444. The Scan is £138. You can get a Tosh 210 for a tenner more from Costco. I`m pretty sure both output 5.1 and DTS and will do everything else. I stand to be corrected though.

How right you are, avoid SCAN like the plague, A Tosh Or Pioneer 444, is what you want.
