Dual 860 DVD Player

Does anyone know if the Dual DVD player they are selling in Asda for £50 is any good. It has a built in card reader for sd/mmc cf etc with slots in the front and appears to play jpegs, mp4s and all kinds of things? Is it too good to be true?

forget my last post, we bought the system on wednesday and will taking it back tonight as there was such an annoying humm coming from all the speakers.
We had a play with the system setup in the shop and found it was doing the same thing, so I wouldn`t advise purchasing this system, low price, low quality it seems. Shame!

They are selling these bargain home cinema system in Asda again, is this hack still ok to use or has anyone found out how to permanently free the region settings, seems like a bit of a pain to have to change the region every time ?

On the Bond theme, Tomorrow Never Dies has so many I lost count, but the one that sticks in my mind, is when MoneyPenny contacts Bond while he is `at work` with his Swedish teacher and MP says `You always were a cunning linguist` Bleargh..

and then in the car with `m` getting his new assignment, MP also says something like `I`m sure you`ll keep on top of the job` !

For some reason when Sean Connery says his corny lines, I don`t seem to cringe like Brosnan?

R1 DC received beginning of Jan, extra bits were good as they gave a little more info about Riddicks past, enjoyed the film as much as at the cinema.

Me and my mum went to what we thought was an antiques fair in Swindon and ended up being extras in Alan Titchmarsh`s new programme 20th Century Roadshow (due out some time this year).
Apart from chatting with Alan (lovely bloke) there were antiques roadshow and top gear presenters and Jamie Cracknell (Olympic Rower). It was a fun day out!

Does anyone know which is the best version of Riddick, R1 or R2, different sites seem to show different details?

I know many of you have trashed the film, but I loved it, pure sci-fi fantasy escapism.

Nokia 5140 sim free

Hi,

Has anyone seen the new nokia 5140 for < £200 sim free?
It looks like a brilliant phone with all kinds of cool features, I`ve been waiting for it to come out for ages but now it`s out, the cheapest i`ve seen is £209.
They have only released it on orange PAYG, which is locked, so I can`t use my virgin sim in it.

Best External USB drive?

Hi,

I need to buy an external usb hard drive in order to backup loads of data from my pc, but can`t decide whether to go for a mega > 100gb disk or stay under the £100 price range and go for 80gb.
I also want to get into DV video editing, so may need a larger one anyway.
Does anyone have any suggestions of bargains out there or whether I am better buying a couple of smaller disks?

Which Freeview Set Top Box?

My parents are finally getting rid of overpriced NTL cable, and I want to get them a Freeview box to replace it, are there any bargains out there, I have seen some cheap in Asda and Tescos but are they any good?
And what kind of aerial do you need to buy, they don`t currently have one.

What kind of home cinema system?

Is it better to buy a dvd with a home cinema system attached or get a cinema system to suit your TV?
My parents want a new dvd player and have decided they want a home cinema system at the same time and have asked my advice. Too many systems out there !!
My feeling is to get a seperate dvd player and speaker system, am I wrong?
They already have a decent widescreen tv.

Been to the shop in Swindon in my lunch break and no sight of any bargain SD cards only ones at normal overpriced amounts, also checked the web site and cannot see any SD cards.

I would definitely avoid TIME, during the 2 months since ordering a system from them, it has been sent back for repair due to a manufacturing fault on the motherboard and carted around the country so much, the box is falling to pieces ! I am currently awaiting my money back. Please avoid them at all costs !

Can Matsui 110 play cd-r disks?

Is there any way to enable the playing of cd-r disks on my player. I have VCD copies of films that I can`t play. I have enabled the VCD option it doesn`t recognise the disk.
I don`t want to buy another player, I like this one !

Matsui 110 can`t play Duets DVD

I cannot get my Matsui player to play the R2 DVD of Duets, it plays the icon entertainment logo then hangs the player before the main menu. Has anyone else had a problem with this disk?
