Alas - Time`s build quality is known throghout the industry as less than brilliant. Personally I`d resist the temptation and avoid.

Time bought Tiny when they went under. These could be bankrupt stock left over. I would avoid like the plague from either of these anyway.

I used to work for time, and the kit isn`t the worst in the world, I`ve seen shabbyer.
However the thing that used to majorly let them down was the Support or lack of it available from the Head office.
SO if you don`t think you`ll need any support then it could be an ok buy, but be warned most systems used to have integrated sound and graphics.

A mate of mine bought a Time pc about 3 years ago. During that, er time, it had so many problems that it had to be returned about half a dozen er, times. (this isnt deliberate). I`d avoid. Those medions that Lidl/Aldi seem like a better bet. A good place for pcs on the web is http://www.novatech.co.uk. Good people, and good range of pooters.

ps, cheers for the heads up though!!!

I am not a fan of Novatech either - I bought a PC from them a year ago. It had a design fault where the graphics card did not have time to initialise properly before it completed loading windows.

I sent it back and after a week of hearing nothing I chased them up and was told that they were aware of the design flaw but had not figured a way around it. I then asked why were they still selling them. As they had no answer to this I got a refund.

I hate pc manufacturers who give 128MB ram or less because thats what I got with my pc 3 years ago and they should double the RAM they give every year so 512MB is sound enough for me.

I would definitely avoid TIME, during the 2 months since ordering a system from them, it has been sent back for repair due to a manufacturing fault on the motherboard and carted around the country so much, the box is falling to pieces ! I am currently awaiting my money back. Please avoid them at all costs !

I decided to take a chance with time and bought their package for £699
3 months ago.

The reason i bought from them was simply for the hardware - i couldent build the same spec pc for the same money. As soon as i got it i took all their crap off, took xp off, formatted the drive, removed their recovery partition and i have had no problems whatsoever.

Machine is damn fast and build quality is also very good. I used to build pc`s and really cant fault it.

I knew all about their reputation but took a risk and so far it has paid off.

Just my tuppence worth

I could build a better spec machine than that for the money they want. Onboard graphics/sound, crap modem, bog standard 15" screen, the only good thing is they bundle a printer - who uses the software the bundle with it anyway?

Not to bad if you don`t build them yourself though :)
