have a look at www.portablemonopoly.com for the best lighting solution.

RE: Can Toshiba SD110e play VCD`s???

I`ve tried burning a VCD using Nero (many times) and the same error comes up as when using a CDR. I have tried both pal and ntsc video files and I still can`t get it to work. I may not have made the Cd right as I don`t understand the technical spec requried for a VCD to play in a DVD player. I used the wizard creation so this should n`t matter.
Has anyone got an original VCD they would like to test on this machine?

RE: Can Toshiba SD110e play VCD`s???

Yes I took it to the shop in person, and it will be Sunday if I do get the time-I will have to download some software, and put the contents of the CDRW onto another CD. There is a chance it may work as the VCDHelp.com website says that the SD100e was able to play VCDs.

RE: Can Toshiba SD110e play VCD`s???

The CDRW does only have music on but it plays it perfectly. I will have to try making into a VCD at the weekend if I get the time.
I got my player made multi-region by Mailuk for £20 and I have had no problems.

RE: Can Toshiba SD110e play VCD`s???

Has anyone actually tried to play a VCD as the intruction manual has no mention of this function. Also, has anyone found a decent brand of CDR that this player will play? I have only tried a few and the only one that works is a LG CDRW that came with my CD writer.

Scart Troubles

I`ve been looking for a device that will allow me to plug three scart leads into one socket without sucess. The first I tried was from argos, and could n`t handle RGB, only composite. Then I tried a JVC one from Dixons. This can handle RGB but not composite. Also plugging other scart leads into the block affects the picture or sound of the other signal. eg Dreamcast has no sound with DVD plugged in and off, and DVD`s colours are different with DC plugged in and off.
Is there a solution to this and can anyone suggest a suitable and reasonable priced product?

Thanks

RE: Lip Sync Problems with Phantom Menace DVD

See older threads, where did you get your disc from and what region is it?

RE: hitachi c24w430n - any good?

Thanks for the info but I will probably get the Tosh 28W93B for £380 from Index as my sister works there. It is also easy to take things back. I actually made a profit when I took my old hi-fi back because the person working there forgot to take account of the staff discount!

RE: star wars (R2) lip sync problems?

I would guess that either the disc is faulty, or the player is, possible due to the upgrade. On my machine the only other disc with lip-sync problems is Reservoir Dogs on a couple of scenes, but this is a know problem affecting all players.
BTW where did you get your copy, mine was from play.

RE: hitachi c24w430n - any good?

I went to looks at TV`s today and 24" is too small, especially when displaying 4:3 images. I was looking at that Tosh for £380ish which seems good for the money.

hitachi c24w430n - any good?

Does anyone know if this TV can accept an s-video signal?
What viewing modes does it have (16:9, 4:3, 14:9, zoom, 4:3 expand?) Would you recommend this TV for around £320?

any info appreciated.

RE: **HELP** Toshiba dvd sd110e

Hi,

I wanted to know this last month and it seems that there is nowhere in Merseyside that will upgrade this machine. In the end I took it to mailuk.com, (north Manchester, very close to M60 exit). I was charged £20 and it only took 10mins.

RE: Play and Die Hard Boxed Set

Thanks for the info, it should be alright as amaray cases travel well.

Play and Die Hard Boxed Set

I hope to order this soon and I was wondering how they package it, as if it is in a box like the simpsons it will get wrecked in the post. I recently got T2 ultimate with the metal cover and they taped a piece of thick cardboard around it which meant it got here undamaged. Will they do the same with die hard?

star wars (R2) lip sync problems?

Has anyone noticed problems around Anakin blowing up the control ship? I found it especially noticable when the female pilot says, "What`s that, its blowing up from the inside!"
BTW I have a toshiba sd110 that has been upgraded for multiregion playback.

RE: Playing All Region NTSC DVDs on Toshiba sd110e

It should display in full colour if you use a fully wired scart lead. You should then set the output of the player to RGB and use scart socket number 1 on the TV.
Hope this helps.

RE: Playing all-region NTSC dvds on Toshiba sd110e

press set up and change the output fom "PAL" to "AUTO", that should sort it out.

RE: TOSHIBA SD110E - Does it play VCD & CDR

Don`t know about VCD but it does n`t play any of the CDRs I`ve tried. It can play some CDRWs though.

RE: Is there anywhere in Merseyside area that will

Looks like it will have to be! I have looked at the website and it says you can do the mod while I wait. Does this include Saturdays or would I have to phone before turing up. Also what does this upgrade involve?

RE: Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition(R1)

thanks all, have to get it soon.

Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition(R1)

Can anyone who bought this from Play tell me if they were sent the double sided version or the two disc set? Also, what case does it come in?
Thanks
Rich

Is there anywhere in Merseyside area that will "chip" my toshiba sd110e?

Does anyone know of anywhere in the Liverpool area that can make my machine multi region and RCE compatible for a reasonable price?
Thanks,
Rich

toshiba sd110 multi region

I am hoping to upgrade my player. So far the best place seems to be Mailuk for £20. Anyone know of somewhere in the Merseyside area that can do this for a similar price?

RE: TV and NTSC compatibility problem.

I was under the impression that if a TV could accept an RGB signal then it could display an NTSC picture in colour. Is this right? I have a tosh sd110e and am thinking of making it multiregion, but I don`t know if my TV will accept an NTSC signal. The player can be set to either PAL or Auto. Does Auto setting change an NTSC signal to a PAL60, which I know my TV can accept?

Thanks for any help
Rich

Toshiba sd 110e multiregion

I am considering upgrading my player, either by chipping it myself or by paying for it to get a "premiere-flash" no chip upgrade. Does anyone know if either method is RCE compatible, or if the procedure causes the loss of any features etc? Thanks

Die Hard boxed set (R2)

Do anyone know when or if this set will be coming out and if it will be the same as the R1 release?

Which Player Should I buy?

I am new to DVD and would like some advice on a few players. Could anyone who owns either a Toshiba SD 110e or Hitachi DV-P315 tell me if they are worth buying? Do they have problems with discs such as The Matrix or Gladiator? Are they hackable and able to play RCE discs? Is picture quality good for this price range? Thanks for any help.
