Heard about this a while back and started watching it this week. Extremely compelling stuff, with hints of both Johnathan Creek & the musical stylings of Only Murders (only not as comfy)
David Mitchell (who, while likeable, has no range at all, but his personal persona is perfect for this role) plays John Taylor, a crossword-and-other-puzzles compiler, who finds himself inadvertantly taking on the role of his identical twin brother James after the latter goes missing. Unfortunately his identical twin brother is a Cambridge police inspector, but despite being as timid and neurotic as every character David Mitchell seems to play, he finds himself in his element when some curious, and seemingly unsolvable cases pop up, which he manages to solve in a stupidly short space of time.
There's only 6 episodes in the first season, and I'm getting through them rather swiftly. The underlying plot of the missing brother is more or less handed over to the twin's wife, Lucy, & their son, leaving James, or is it John, to handle the puzzle of the day.
Really recommend it. Mitchell might be a one trick pony as far as characters go, but this one really suits him
