Four nil away to Brighton.
Four up by half time and absolutely determined not to score in the second half, lost count of how many chances squandered.

With three games to go, too much out of our hands, damn injuries. :(

Agreed.
If we can get Champions League even with all those injuries I'd regard that as a successful season.

Just as well the men's team have Champions League sewn up.
Now Zinchenko's out for the rest of the season.

I think he's a really good player, but he also was the key player at fault for some goals we let in that cost us dearly so I'm keen for the stability of Tierney.

Are you Southampton in disguise?

sorry, couldn't resist when I saw the score ;) Bit like the irony of Pompy fans laughing at us getting relegated.

I was under no illusion that the league was still in our grasp but I was hoping, with two matches left still hoping, we can finish the league with a bang not a whimper.

The remaining two fixtures are effectively the start of next season.
They need to remind everyone how they finished second. Which at the start of the season given the points gap between us and everyone else, including City, we'd have bitten your hand off for.

It wouldn't surprise me if our Tottenham neighbour popped up though given the result now makes it highly likely Brighton may keep them out of Europe maybe not.

For what it's worth sorry to see Southampton go.

Now need to see whether my adopted city suffers with Everton following them. It may give the red half of town a chuckle but they'll miss the derby matches and the city's economy will suffer with no doubt redundancies as staff are laid off.

Ending with a whimper again.
Obviously need a deeper squad and not just as we're in Champions League.

For my money I think Arteta had too narrow a focus on his chosen players and didn't use what depth he did have early enough in the season.

Example. Smith Rowe. Back from injury a while back but not used as anything other than a gesture. Love the bloke but that's a lot of value to keep around if he's not going to be used.
Eddie also, did well while Jesus was unavailable but near enough shelved since.
Needs a serious look inwards as to who goes before even looking at who's coming in.

I also think he's too hung up on Guardiola, two slumps in the season in the games immediately before City.

All that said this season's been one helluva ride and I back him and Edu to have a decent summer and sort it.

Now please let's rip Wolves a new one to end the season well at home.

This Ros Atkins explainer about City is worth anyone's 6.14 mins
