disappointing for me, I went to my neighbour's to watch Saints, which is usually a regrettable mistake, but enjoyed seeing us above you in the table after the match finished :) Should have taken a photo since that didn't last long :(

Just seen the MOTD highlights after following the match on the club audio.
The video confirmed the audio in that there was maybe one or two moments when I was worried but most of the match we had them on toast.

I think this is a bit more than a new manager bounce as well. All the players seem to be right on board with what he's trying to do.
Xhaka it seems now wants to stay which may not be to everyone's choice but what a difference it makes when you get players doing what they're good at rather then square pegs in round holes.
Torriera probably man of the match and has a huge smile after his shot just went wide.
Let's see if we can get Auba to stay and maybe sign another contract.
Apparently we've told Leeds they can't keep Nketiah all season so we've got a replacement if only a young and raw one. Plus a bit of intel on how they play before Monday?

Not bad defending from a team that 'can't defend' and have so many out at the moment. Probably as happy with the clean sheet as the win.

Yeah, David Luiz said that in the post-match interview. He also said they weren't fit enough yet, also interesting. Makes you wonder what Emery's idea of training was.

I'm sure there is also an element of "this works for City" and Arteta having a few ex-City staff around him.

Three podcasts now from different people with a good few contributors plus numerous tweets all saying the same thing 'unfit' 'not fit enough' 'considerably off the pace' only capable of 45, 50, 70...minutes'

Yet I remember when Emery took over he made the same complaints of the squad and initiated double training sessions.

I don't understand how we got from there to here in 18 months as training levels and fitness surely don't necessarily relate to how good or bad a coach is at tactics and systems.

This is true, though if you are going to press the entire game you need a level of fitness they clearly don't have, or maybe Emery decided they didn't need.

Usually they'd press until we went a goal down and then it would just fall apart. So they never went very long pressing, and didn't need to be as fit as they do now. Also perhaps the motiviation to be fit enough wasn't there either.

This is a fascinating watch, you can see how much he cares about people giving the player on the ball options, pushing up and pressing as a team, and just generally how animated he is:

Watched this earlier on.
In just the first couple of week he's got more connection and communication with his team and the fans than Emery managed in 18 months. That may be slightly unfair due to the language problem, but only slightly.

Torriera trying to lift Sokratis after the goal is an image that stays with you.

FA Cup vs Leeds, Arteta clearly ok at the half time team talk!

Also, how did Xhaka go that entire game without getting booked? 😂

Watched the first half and listened to the second half.
How we went in at half time not being down two goals is a source of wonder.

Maybe Arteta is getting them to foul like Man City as a matter of course so that refs just think it's what they do.
Two wins in a row and two clean sheets. I'll take that.
Lacazette was asked what Arteta said at half time and replied 'He shouted a lot'

I would like to make a claim for dedication to the cause for having put up with both Danny Murphy and Chris Sutton during the match.

Danny Murphy was particularly hard.
