Page 1 of The Official Celtic 2011/12 Season Thread

SPL started (very) early this season, off to a solid win away to Hibs with only 1 new start Kelvin Wilson starting the match,  Matthews and Wanyama on bench, Matthews I am very excited about on a free, hoping Wilson sorts out our defensive problems but not too sure about that one and we have started with Izzy and Kayal who along with Browns were our best players last season and all linked with moves away. Mark Wilson got captaincy today which was a nice touch (Brown suspended) as he has been solid if uninspiring since his move from Dundee Utd and with his injury problems he has still seen off Hinkle, Cha and Juarez and had a good season last year and will in my opinion do well to keep Matthews out of the side this year.

We still need a Keeper, and a center forward to challenge Stokes, Hooper and Sammy and I will be quietly confident.

Bilko mate, I think Celtic should try and get Joey Barton. From what I have seen he would be a great addition to the team  Plus he could always huckle Bartley , that is one annoying twonk

would have him in a heartbeat but we couldnt afford his wages and where would we play him, midfield looks fine at minute, center back , keeper and forward we need desperately.......hope hearts help our co efficiency but doubt it lol

Romanov should be banned, thrown out, jailed....not sure what they can do but surely hes bringing the game into disrepute?

Without doubt he would fail the "Fit and proper" test if such a regulation existed in Scotland. 11 different managers plus coaching staff in 7 years. Also he is apparently bringing Thompson (sp) back in about a year

cant believe hes got the cheek to send out a pedo on loan to another country?? No 1 how did he get out of this country No 2 how did he get into theirs??

Got to ask what was the reasoning between the Scottish League starting so early, Xmas break?

I was sat in the pub a couple of weeks ago and Rangers were playing someone  (believe it finished 1-1) and just assumed it must be at least the Scottish Charity Shield.

Was absolutely shocked when I was told it was the first SPL game.

well a 1-0 win, played well, didnt finish fell tho, but Izzy breaking his ankle is an absolute disaster for us given that he was the player of the year last season and heavily linked with move to EPL during the close season, at least 3 months on the sidelines...:(

I think Mr Romanov`s brain was affected during his time on the submarines in the the Russian Navy. Complete loony!
Still need a goalie mbilko and maybe a replacement for Izzy until he regains fitness
