Lightning Bolt strikes again

9.58 seconds for the 100m.

Not long ago we were thrilled when sprinters dipped under 10 seconds, now Bolt`s around half a second quicker, isn`t that about a five metre gap from what used to be the standard?

Yegods.

I missed his Olympic run so can`t compare the atmosphere or the tension but my jaw literally dropped when I saw the clock yesterday.

This guy just seems to be able to go out and break records at will.

And he`s a entertainer too, not from the USA, and seems to do it all `clean` so what`s not to admire?

8)

And a big well done to Jessica Ennis too, great performance to take gold.

Despite the false start in the semi (which then subsequently lead to the British guy getting DQ`d under the worlds must rediculous rule) he was never out of first gear and still clocked a winning time of 9.86

Tyson Gay must be sick.
Clocks a 9.71, which would have busted the world record 12 months ago.
Instead he finishes second, 0.13 seconds behind the winner and still 0.02 seconds behind the old WR

Makes you wonder what the time for the 100m will have been trimmed down to in 50 years time. Also will there ever be a time when it will be impossible to go faster? Maybe in 1000 years the 100m will be completed in 3.16 seconds. They will have to show it in slo-mo just so we can see it.

Fecking Hell
Talksport`s Mike Parry has come to the Reviewer Forums
He started spouting some crap about it not being long before the 100m is being run in 1 second. Which is frankly just garbage unless athletics starts to be competed for by androids and not humans

I should imagine that there is already some calculation on what would be a "threshold" for what the lowest time realistically is.
It has to be a limited figure on the basis that the human body just simply can not do certain things or at certain speeds
