Retailer Reviews Forum
Has anyone had problems with dvdboxoffice.com lately?
I have been ordering 5-8 dvds a month from them for about 14 months with no problem (usually takes around 6 days from shipment to arrive in the UK).
Then in the last month I have had 8 dvds confirmed as shipped but none of them have arrived and after contacting them I received the following message:
"We Ship via England and there is currently a minor postal problem which is causing packages to be delayed, even though you are in England you will probably not have heard of this because it is only minor".
This seems to a bit of a lie as there is no strike and as of 29th Oct 2000 23:30 GMT the site seems to be down.
I will be contacting my credit card company in the morning to notify them of the companies’ actions.
Ordered about 10 DVD`s from these guy`s and never had any probs until recently(been waiting for twister DTS since October 10th).
I dont believe it is totally their fault but we will soon find out the facts.
HITACHI 505 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty much the same, never had any problems except for discs sent after 7th October, not received any of them yet.
It is their fault and they are gonna rip you off!

RE: Problems with dvdboxoffice
I`m glad I`m not alone. I`ve got about 15 DVD`s posted from the beginning of October onwards which havent arrived yet (most arrive in 6-8 days). I sent them several messages, and all they could reply with is that if they dont turn up 8 weeks after they were posted then get back to them!
The odd thing is, I`ve received several box sets off them which were sent after some single DVD`s (Nightmare on Elm Street 8 DVD`s, Puppet Master 8 DVD`s, Jurassic Park 2 DVD`s, Sherlock Holmes 4 DVD`s), these all arrived in brown cardboard packaging instead of the normal light brown envelopes, the longest one of these took 9 days.
I`ll give them until the end of the week before I start stamping my feet at them.
BTW, for the scare mongers who like to post silly messages, I`ve been dealing with them for about 3 years now and have received over 400 DVD`s from them, only 1 was lost in the post, and I have only returned 2 which were damaged in the post (both Disney ones, their cases are not very good), so I dont think the problem is with them, and they are not rip off merchants.

Ironduke,
Please don`t post "HITACHI ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!" after every post you make. I think we have got the message and it really is annoying me, if you continue then I will stoop to your level and stick "Ironduke is a PRICK" at the end of all my messages.
Please don`t take this in a bad way :)
Regards
James
Smiler/James :
Steady on mate. Dukey`s PC is actually programmed to add that sentence on at the end of each posting. It`s kinda endearing in a way, because it`s like Duke`s confusing us with people who give a s***...
Don`t worry `bout it mate. Adding "Dukey is a p****" will only make him worse and then this forum will turn into a slanging match. Keep your toys in the pram and put up or shut up !!!
Free world an` all that.
Incidentally, re DVDBO : I think I read somewhere (can`t remember the site) that as the Christmas rush is now officially starting there will be delays. I`d give them at least 4 weeks to come up with the goods, irrespective of past dealings.
Just for you Smiler "ENCORE 450 - BUDGET PLAYER OF THE YEAR" - put that in your pipe and smoke it, sunshine...
RE: Problems with dvdboxoffice
You guys really know how to cheer a chap up!
A month after I ordered it, I get the confirmation from DVDBO that my Evil Dead II sexy Tin Box is being sent (finally!) and then I find out that I may never ever see it. Damn that`s depressing.
Going on my experience of normally 9 days to arrive in my letterbox... I`m expecting Pitch Black 2morrow... so I`ll know if it`s scare mongering in the morning... Hmm
Had Army of Darkness directors cut recently in the normal time. Hmm.
And to join in...
Sampo wobbles about a bit!!!!
Videologic Digitheatre ROCKS!!!!!!!
(sorry)
