RE: What is DVDBO Playing At!!!

Well, I received 7 DVD`s yesterday in the post so it looks like things are moving again, hurrar.

RE: What is DVDBO Playing At!!!

I`ve had no responce from them about my delayed deliveries, and I`ve got 14 in the post from them! Some were posted a month ago, and I normally get them in 5-8 days so I am slightly concerned.

There response to contact is always the same and they just harp on about postage can take 14-28 days and 8 weeks is how long you should wait before worrying.

In BO defence, I have ordered well over 600 DVD`s from them in the past 3 years and only 1 has not turned up and they sent a replacement to me after about 10 weeks.

Also they are very good at sending replacements when there are problems (Disney DVD`s seem to always come lose in the case and rattle around to get scratched, I`ve had to return 3-4 of these but they get replaced immediately).

RE: Problems with dvdboxoffice

PANIC OVER. I received a grand total of 19 DVD`s this morning, my postman must hate me. These were posted by DVD BO between the 5th October and the 20th October, so that`s between 2 and 4 weeks for delivery as opposed to 6-9 days normally.

I feel a lot better now!!!!

Panasonic, Sony, and a few others all rule!!!

RE: Problems with dvdboxoffice

Copy of the message I received from them today, it makes me feel much better about the (almost) £300 worth of DVD`s in the post!

Hello,

Delivery times really do vary. On average it takes 7 to 21 days to take
delivery provided that there are no delays along the way with customs or
your countries postal service. Sometimes delivery times can be quicker
than the average and sometimes it can take longer.

It has come to our attention that over the last 2 weeks the Royal Mail in
England has been experiencing some operational slow downs which have
increased the delivery times.

Thank you for your patience, you should be taking delivery soon.

Errrrrmmmm..... Sanyo Rocks?

RE: Problems with dvdboxoffice

I`m glad I`m not alone. I`ve got about 15 DVD`s posted from the beginning of October onwards which havent arrived yet (most arrive in 6-8 days). I sent them several messages, and all they could reply with is that if they dont turn up 8 weeks after they were posted then get back to them!

The odd thing is, I`ve received several box sets off them which were sent after some single DVD`s (Nightmare on Elm Street 8 DVD`s, Puppet Master 8 DVD`s, Jurassic Park 2 DVD`s, Sherlock Holmes 4 DVD`s), these all arrived in brown cardboard packaging instead of the normal light brown envelopes, the longest one of these took 9 days.

I`ll give them until the end of the week before I start stamping my feet at them.

BTW, for the scare mongers who like to post silly messages, I`ve been dealing with them for about 3 years now and have received over 400 DVD`s from them, only 1 was lost in the post, and I have only returned 2 which were damaged in the post (both Disney ones, their cases are not very good), so I dont think the problem is with them, and they are not rip off merchants.

RE: Customs and Excise

I`ve imported about 300 DVD`s for myself and my friends over the past 2 years, and I`ve had about 7 packages stopped. The ones which were stopped were either around Christmas time or when I`ve had more than 3 DVD`s in a package.

It would be impossible for Customs to open every one that comes through.

I get most of mine from DVD Box office in Canada as they usually only send one or two DVD`s at a time. I do get some from the UK (www.godvd.co.uk) if I`m in a hurry as they deliver next day usually.

RE: Sony DVD Changer

The player gets a very good review (can be seen online at http://www.homecinemachoice.com/tried&tested.html ).

I have got a fairly large DVD collection (mostly R1) and the facilities this player offers sound superb.

I suppose I am just lazy!

Sony DVD Changer

Anyone seen one, used one or own one out there?

Anyone know where to get one from (must be multi-region)?
