Page 1 of October 30th and Play247

I ordered Shrek R1 2-disk edition, and it was posted on the 30th of october, and on the 9th of November it haddn`t arrived i got on the phone to play and after 15 minutes (no joke either) i got hold of a woman who told me that all dispatches on the 30th had been delayed and if it didn`t arrive by monday (12th) i should ring back and they`ll send another out.

so it`s monday the 12th, no shrek so i got back on the phone and after 11minutes (i have a timer on my phone) an aussy woman told me "we`ve got comfirmation that all ordered dispatched on the 30th have been found and re-posted, if it doesn`t arrive by thursday please ring back and we`ll send another out"

this all sound weird, but such a large amount of people not reciving thier Shrek`s it COULD be true.

anyone who hasn`t recieved thier shrek R1 please tell me the date which yours was SUPPOSED to be shipped.

I got the same runaround and my DVDs finally arrived 4 wks after debiting my acct. Vern

My copy of Tomb Raider hasn`t arrived either it to was posted on the 30th so I phoned Play yesterday (5mins). They told me that Royal Mail had lost an entire pallet of deliveries sent out on the 30th.

- If I dont receive my copy by Wednesday I`m to call them back again!

I had the same problem (waiting over a fortnight for a disc, again), and rang them. Got straight through, and they said it had been posted Friday, and if it hadn`t come by Wednesday to ring them. The disc arrived this morning.
I ordered a region 2 disc last week and it arrived 2 days after ordering it, so the delay is obviously R1 only.

I`ve been looking into this, and as far as I can figure from what a variety of people have said, it seems Play dispatched a whole consignment of disks (mostly Shrek and Tomb Raider) from their R1 warehouse which appears to be at Brussels Airport. When the pallet arrived in the UK, it became embroiled in an Anthrax alert at the sorting office and got shoved on one side. It`s taken the best part of a fortnight for Consignia to find the pallet and get the packets through Customs and on their way.

This is a repeat of a similar fiasco to do with another popular release earlier in the year (I forget what), so I suggest in future rather than blaming the retailers for delayed disks, we should all blame the real culprits - Royal Mail.

Once again a simple message on the front page of their website would of explained this whole situation. Lose a bit of the advertised titles and provide some really useful information.

well it finaly came today and to put the icing on the cake, the Shrek DVD case had a Instant Win thingy on the front and the stickers won`t come off the case without a s**t load of glue left on the cover.....

so now it`s got scratches and glue on the front.

Well good news I finally got my Tomb Raider yesterday as well as Planet of the Apes!

Looks like its all been sorted out now.
